I’m starting to almost pity Phil. I foresee either Wally will decide to suicide by not fighting back, which will humiliate Phil one way, or Wally will practically murder Phil, which will be a different sort of humiliation.
This cat may be as angry as Jim was, only saner, My guess, he’ll whip Phil to an inch from death – and Holly will show up to stop him at the last moment. How that will change the ending to the fight, we’ll see.
We saw what Wally did to Phil when Chic got a black eye. Aaron may need to put a NSFW warning on the strip now that Wally thinks Chic as well as Holly are dead.
We already know his cat claws can harm reptile hide (RIP Allie), I think Phil is in for more then he’s bargained for. Few things in nature are more dangerous then an agitated feline backed into a corner.
I feel like the whole “we’re the superior species” thing is part ploy part actual belief. It’s just that some either believe it more than others, or believe that being superior doesn’t mean you can be cruel.
I know its cliché but I see it playing out as Wally beating Phil within an inch of his life through his strength of righteous indignation/anger and heartbreak, but Holly shows up just in time to save his soul by not allowing him to become a murderer.
Wally believes that he has lost it all and has nothing left to lose. That is a freeing up of actions, maybe.I don’t think he will kill Phil, that would be out of his character. If Holly and aall show up, this maybe how they can escape. Phil being beaten could divert their attention.Happy new years everybody, where ever you are.
Where have the Dittoes been all this time?Wally is a “prisoner of war” and as a prisoner it is his duty to escape.The Lizzies made a big mistake, they sent an unarmed female to retrieve him, she can easily be overpowered and subdued and rendered unconscious. Wally can then hide her body to make the others think she is helping him try to escape. The few minutes he may have before the lizzies notice something is wrong is Wally’s best chance. And with the help of the dittoes he has a decent chance of getting out of there.But Wally may be thinking that Holly is dead by the gas or Jim, and the only thing on his mind now is revenge no matter what the cost.Self sacrifice is noble, but only when it necessary to do so.He owes it to Holly to escape, whether he believes she is alive or not.If he “wins” the fight, Wally is a complete fool to think the lizzies will let him just walk out of there alive.Either way he will leave that arena feet first.After all the “Honor” of the Lizzies is at stake.He got to put the beat down on Phil already, and he should be satisfied with that.Where there’s life there’s hope…
More strange thoughts here..How much Wally knows has not been revealed to us – other than he knows Holly was in the tunnels and, subsequently, the tunnels were being gassed..Flash back about a year ago (for us, a week or two for them) and the main conversation going on was between Wally and Holly – trying to decide what to do with these two Topsiders who had just surrendered to them..Holly wanted them dead. Wally wanted to listen to them..Now, Sarah has shown her true colors. Jim? Was he good or evil? (While he appeared to be good, many of you didn’t trust him – “once a Topsider, always a Topsider…”) In the mean time, does it matter?.Jim’s dead..Moreover, as has been speculated, Wally believes Holly is dead..At this point, it is conceivable that, for all of the tumult of the last few days (year for us), Wally may have come to the conclusion, nothing good came of taking in the Topsiders!.Not to mention, just how much like Topsiders these lizards have become..How this figures into Wally’s thinking, who knows?
