The waffles changed to toast in the last panel

Not waffles, English muffins.

Packages of whatevers became package of bread.

I remember back in the 80s, when I started reading this strip, he used to put in little easter eggs, like the muffins/bread swap.

Also, it’s so obviously not waffles and no one needs to be a detective to see that. Just have eyes and be able to see. I realize that may be a problem, though.

Wouldn’t a frat party seem awfully tame after a Randy Newman concert? (Of course, Mike’s “moves” would be the tamest of all……..)

I really didn’t have access to this comic back when it was in its earlier days. Today’s version of Mike is like a real person, and this version is hard to take…

waffles didn’t come like that back then. you had to make them.

At least the muffin/bread bags were twist-tied closed after they were used. Some places where I’ve stayed, the dad and kids leave the bags wide open, and the contents dry out.

Funny thing happened to the muffins while they were in the magic toaster…
