Jim’s hands don’t seem to be working so well anymore. He’d climbed the ladder more by just hanging on to Holly by sheer friction, rather than by grabbing her neck or dress. He might have gnawed on an ear while he had the chance, though. Expect that she’s going to show up with new stud earrings in the future.
We haven’t seen the last of Jim, look for his debut in a new comedy. Where he will be paired with a Chihuahua with a hair trigger temper in “Ren and Stumpy”..I told you it’s just a flesh wound!Holly and Chic have gotten away… Till Monday…They better hope Jim can’t jump!
I’ve been looking at the artwork carefully this week to see what Holly actually did to Jim’s hands. From what I’ve seen, it looks like she actually bit the fingers clean off. I haven’t seen any fingers lying about, but I haven’t really seen any evidence that they’re attached to Jim’s hands. Panel 4 of this strip seems telling.
When your ear is being chewed it would tend to panic to ensue. She had told Chic to run, but he didn’t go very fast. He probably saved Holly’s life and unless he is now falling, his own. Maybe if he is falling he can grab Holly’s foot. Or she may spin around and grab his hand.This is a pleasant turn, it’s been so depressing for weeks and we all need a piece of hope. I still feel bad for Jim, not his fault, but maybe he can take his anger and visit Sarah.
Also I want to tell Aaron how good his art is, and that I could do things that require physical strength (concerning what I could do with my own body) I had lots more at 4 than I can do now. I saw what Chic needs to do and can feel from muscle memory that yes he can do it. Swing himself around so both arms are up then drag his light little self up.being bird, he would be very light.
Holly looks hyperfocused, here, like she’s just doing whatever she can to get to the top with all of her strength. While I do think she’s trying to get Chic up there as well, I think by the time she’s at the top of the ladder she’s thinking nothing else then “Go! Go! Go!!” That’s probably all she can do, with Jim chewing on the back of her head. D: Good on Chic for lashing at Jim during the climb to keep him from doing more damage than he’s already done. Hopefully he won’t fall! I think he’ll be okay (for now)
Hopefully Jim will pass out from blood loss and shock before he can try to pick up that ladder. But WAIT! Jim has no fingers. So leaning that ladder up against the wall will likely not be possible for him.
Die, Jim. Kick the bucket, take a dirt nap, rest in peace…or since Holly gnawed off his digits…rest in pieces.
But in a corner of my mind I’m feeling it’s all Sarah’s fault for being such a snake in the grass.
Trying to track down something else in the back issues—-thought Jim’s tail was getting pouffier here, but that’s really not so—-but I did notice one thing. Chick had a beautiful pair of shiners…but now they’re gone…and it hasn’t been that long. Marvelous mutant healing powers at work again?

Looking back at today’s strip, it is obvious that Jim did bite Holly’s ears while she was climbing. I hope he didn’t have rabies.
