Holly: “What do they argue over?”Chic: “Normally? The regular stuff. Politics, where to set up new bandit traps, whether you should eat your babies with ketchup, or soy sauce. Pretty universal subjects I would expect.”

At least they do have one solitary redeeming feature. They couldn’t countenance their child being killed.

Leave to parents to provide the Twinkies, just like childhood.

I wonder if the King would have let Phil go if he knew why Wally was wailing on him.

In a brand new world, where everything has fallen to pieces or ashes or dust, and even people don’t recognise themselves, … Why did Fearless Leader choose a cape as a sartorial statement? Also, the detail has been just incredible, here and at Doc Rat. It almost seems like Neathery and Jenner are,… Well, I dunno, in competition?, challenging each other?, inspiring each other? with their detail and use of shadows and light? Notice the shadows and light framing Chic’s view of his parents. Also, Chic’s little torch is an amazing attention to detail. At the auction site, lots of people can buy prints to preserve Neathery’s work for future examination. The auction site is accessible through the lavender banner ad to the right. Also, just so everyone knows it’s really me, today is the first day of a brand new month, so the TopWebComics vote for October has begun. Here are the voting links.

    Vote ENDTOWN

    Vote Doc Rat

I saw the picture Three Steps Over Japan posted, where Jenner had helped Bill Holbrook, prepare a poster of Kevin and Kell, for MidiFur in Australia. So, if you want to meet Jenner and maybe Holbrook, and maybe even Jason Chatfield from Ginger Meggs(posted on gocomics), you might want to make your reservations for Australia, this coming Winter. Thanks, JusSayinPS: Ginger Meggs isn’t a Fur comic, but who knows, Chatfield may be there trying to get Jenner’s autographed books. Chatfield has said he is a fan of Doc Rat. I’ll be back later for links to Ginger Meggs.

So I guess being born in an egg doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll become a lizard? The mutagenic virus is a bit crazy!

It will be interesting to see what happens when Sarah enters the fray. She seems to think that the management skills she learned in her former life can save the colony. What sort of plan does she have. The way she outlined the colony’s problems suggests that simple efficiency won’t cut it. She will have to figure out a new source of nutrients for the lizards and find a new way to get supplies. Does she realize that any change to the “one species” policy is a nonstarter down here? Will her suggestions get her any more than a “Ms. Battle, please take your raccoon and leave!”? Enquiring minds want to know!!!

Looking at the auction site, a question arises. Is Wally a Freemason?

Veteran,What is your take on the fancy looking assault rifles that Piotr and his crew were toting when they waylayed our gang. I’m guessing that the weapons were either wooden mockups, or were no longer useful as anything but props. This view comes from two things. When Sarah suggested robbing other colonies, Piotr suggested that colonies that could be robbed with wooden swords, didn’t have anything useful. That suggests that the weapons were props, good for frightening outnumbered prey, not so good for colony invasion where the locals can be expected to put up a fight. The other thing was that its been over 7 years since the end of civilization as we know it and it may be hard to find things like the proper ammunition and the other things needed to keep an assault rifle healthy. Any thoughts?

As promised, here is the link to Ginger Meggs at GoComics.

I noticed something while voting earlier. Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, and The Legend Of Bill, both here on GoComics, are listed on TopWebComics as eligible to be voted for. And Hubris, Kevin and Kell, FREEFALL, XKCD, The Order of the Stick (really, TSOJ didn’t just make that up ex nihilo), and lots of others. Let me know if ya’ll want me to promote voting on those or any others. It seems quite easy to add them to TopWebComics voting list, but I am not going to add GoComics full roster to TWC. Don’t they have interns?

Ah, the proud parents…Can you imagine them getting divorced? The custody battle would be legendary…“You laid Chic! He’s all yours!”“And to think, I wouldn’t have had him if not for YOU!

Chic seems to be living like a younger version of Huck Finn.Guess he is happy enough that he was allowed to live.Couldn’t have been a happy childhood really.

I think the difficulties of learning to fire a gun or adjusting technique to fit one’s new frame could be dealt with. A bigger question is what about when one’s hands become too small or too large to handle a gun. Remember Mayor Trimble’s problems with the free play ray gun? (See the Flask’s evidence expedition at the end of Endtown 1.0).The big question I had was the availability of ammunition this long after the war. I know there were some pretty big stockpiles (there would have to be a huge one in Endtown or the rats wouldn’t have any bullets left) but wouldn’t ammunition run out sort of like canned food seems to be doing? This might be particularly difficult for weapons that take odd ammo sizes, like assault rifles.
