Politics is like sports, in much the same way as a hyena is like chocolate cake.

awgiedawgie: maybe not like sports. maybe a competition is more accurate. but they do play for themselves, not us. in that regard they are very similar. politics actually is like a competition, just as republicans and democrats are alike. they both are not fiscally conservative, they just don’t agree on how to spend money or how to raise it. but they both love to spend, they both love pork, and they both love giving citizens the high hard one.

Remember “Greed is good,” according to the line from the movie WALL STREET.

The truest political cartoon of the last year, and non-partisan to boot.

@wondererRepublicans don’t like to spend unless it can make their buddies more money, such as war.

The way things are arranged now, they play for the money needed to keep themselves in office. The System needs changing more than the participants.

Actually, very much like sports. They both play for the money and endorsements.

I wasn’t aware they did friendly debates, I’m usually cussed at, sworn at, threatened just for speaking my bit. At least that is when I talk to anyone of the opposing idea, it isn’t about a debate for what is best it is about attacking the other person as much as possible it seems anymore. This is why I no longer talk politics to anyone.

I see that BC is not the only “Hart Studios” strip that has gone political.

    A politician is a politician is a politician . . .

If we had dictionaries that functioned similar to the newspapers in the Harry Potter movies, and you looked up “liar” all you’d see would be a blur of photographs of every politician since the dawn of time . . .

You are right if you believe the cartoonist opposes your team. You are wrong if you believe the cartoonist favors the other team.

Every voter IS independent in the general election, the only official election.. The primaries are simply the way groups with similar interests select their candidates. .The electoral college was an interesting concept based on the idea the common man does not know all potential candidates but DOES know someone he trusts who knows..Thomas Jefferson changed it by getting folks to run for the electoral college based on the promise they would vote for him...First amendment guarantee of freedom of assembly guarantees all the right to form political parties. We can vote for those they espouse or not, as we desire.
