I’m afraid you are not taking everything into account. Part of the debt (some six-plus trillion dollars’ worth) was provided by the Fed, not by the president, as part of the “too-big-to-fail” bailout. Congress did not approve that either. Put the blame where it belongs: on Mr. Greenspan and Mr. Bernanke.
