What does it tell you that the biggest bawling baby of the bunch is the one demading she get the job? Anyone who looks her up knows Yellen is an incompetent Dem party hack, and the only reason even Obama wants her is she supports his scheme to print cash ‘til it’s not worth the paper’s value.

If you like Centralized one-party-rule government like Communist China — you’ll love Love LOVE Tea Party rule. Each law, each government service, each government project, mandated by one-party, no argument. And if you like complete and TOTAL one-party rule where the primary concerns and expenses are for the military and the ‘elite’ with zero zero ZERO for public health care, education, or food, like North Korea, you’ll MARRY the Tea Party! Come on, Steve! Where’s that ring!

Ms. Yellen has been nothing but dignified and professional. You must be confusing her for some former governor quitter.

Spot on. The T-baggers like to yell they are for democracy, but when they continually lose on an issue up to and past the Supreme Court, guns are grabbed, hostages are taken and demands made. The only part of the Constitution Tpee parties are interested in is the 2nd Amendment.

Given the way Obama wants to handle the economy I’m surprised he didn’t nominate Paris Hilton or Kim Kardasian to the post…

Joe Scarborough remarked today that – by having the shutdown – the “fiscal conservatives” have increased the deficit of the U.S. above the amount it would have been without the shutdown. That’s a remarkable fact to contemplate…

We needed someone like Summers. He trimmed the bloated Harvard endowment, and would have done the same for US government assets.

He eliminated the Glass ceiling on bankers’ profits, a silly rule that forbid bankers from lying to borrowers and investors, and, if you can’t lie legally, you can’t make the kinds of bonuses that bankers deserve. And, thanks to Summers, none of the bankers did anything wrong, so the government was right to guarantee all their bonuses: these honest (thanks to Summers) labourers are worthy of their hire!

Instead, we got a competent, honest nominee, so we all hope she gets filibustered. The last thing we need is a competent, honest head of the Fed.

    You are easily surprised.

    It was rhetorical mostly eugene…
What I would expect him to do, and that is what he did, is pick the easiest means to put someone in the post. After all, Obama is the ultimate slacker.

Interesting that the right-wing cartoons (and pundits) are morphing into a “blame both sides” shtick – Republican approval ratings are in the tank, so getting people to believe that both sides are to blame is actually an improvement.
    .
Meanwhile, the Replicans have squeaked the door open a little (just to let us know the hostage is still alive) with their offer to “negotiate” putting the debt ceiling execution away for a few weeks while keeping the government shut down.

Could you even try to explain that comment.
