One of my all-time favorite political cartoons noted that the national game of Russia is chess, while that of America is poker. (I can’t recall now if that was by Toles or Oliphant.) Reagan was playing poker against Gorbachev who was playing chess. “Where is your king?” “I have three kings!”
why are we involved, anyway? I well remember listening to NPR on my way home from work in 1983, and the issues were the same…a plague on both their houses!
