Psyche had the same problem. beauty & goodness that causedd people to stop worshipping @ the shrine of Venus. & Venus was not amused. no woman approached because of her looks can ever assume that a man wants her for her whole being rather than for eyecandy, status. this kind of man will dump her & replace with younger beauty in the later on years. lucky she has a girlfriend who is not so jealous of her smarts & looks that she is unable to stand the comparison, being ignored while hardons make their smitten advances .

Tucci, why don’t you ask the thousands of real world kids currently enrolling in medical school, or those fewer kids who managed to get into MIT? You might learn something about how ridiculously out of touch with reality your ideology is. You might have to admit you don’t know everything, which could be a challenge for you.

Because that will never happen, despite your fantasies. And if there is a doctor shortage, it will be because so many older Americans will be needing more healthcare than ever before. But don’t worry, your beloved insurance companies will undoubtedly continue to reap obscene profits.

“Oh come on! She’s not that cute!”

I think that’s mostly due to Trudeau’s limitations as an artist. He’s not able to draw her as cute as she’s supposed to be, so we must judge her beauty by the reactions she causes and otherwise suspend disbelief.

As for the blonde/brunette/redhead question (and its corollaries), I won’t be so disingenuous as to claim that looks aren’t a factor, and certainly it’s the first judgment available to be made (unless I’m flirting by email). If I were to build a girlfriend from scratch, she’d be a willowy blonde, but better a Plain Jane that I get along with than a goddess who bores me or pisses me off.

    A READ ‘N’ WEEP FOR U.S. REICHWINGERS

“Nazism used elements of the far-right racist Völkisch German nationalist movement and the anti-communist Freikorps paramilitary culture which fought against the communists in post-World War I Germany.6 It was designed to draw workers away from communism and into völkisch nationalism.7 Major elements of Nazism have been described as far-right ….89”

“Nazi Führer Adolf Hitler had objected to … “Socialist” in its name [National Socialism] as Hitler at the time instead preferred to use “Social Revolutionary”.14 Upon taking over the leadership, Hitler kept the term but defined socialism as meaning a commitment of an individual to a community.14 Hitler did not want the ideology’s socialism to be conflated with Marxian socialism, and claimed that true socialism does not repudiate private property unlike the claims of Marxism, and claimed that the “Marxians have stolen the term and confused its meaning” and said that “Communism is not socialism. Marxism is not socialism.”15 …."

Many remember when Prez W.Bush said he wanted America to become “an ownership society”. But few understood at the time — or even now — what he really truly meant, deep down inside, by such a phrase. Here it is:

The 0.1% OWNS the 99.9%! A true unrestrained-“market” plutocracy masquerading as “conservative”.

    Accomplished via clev mechanisms. Examples:

    • Redefinition of corporations as “persons”, enabling• Mega-giga-even-tera contributions to tea-partier candidates for legislators, governorships, and most especially the U.S. Presidency.• Use of millions-$/yr. lobbyists instead of legitimate Congressional / State legislative staffers to WRITE the actual, relevant, end-use legislation (which a sock-puppet President MUST sign or suffer impeachment by the House). • The gutting, capping, or even outlawing of protective consumer lawsuits for redress of consumer grievances (e.g. “underwater” housing mortgages). (But, lo, here she is, Sen.-elect Elizabeth Warren, now that we really truly need her!) • Wage slavery. (Rem. Tennessee Ernie Ford singin’, “I owe my soul to the company store”? Well, y’all ain’t seen nuttin’ yit. Nuttin’!)

    To mention only five.

Question: How does a Doctor, who purportedly has a thriving practice, have the time, during what would be office hours, to write long screeds against progressive thinking ? How many people are waiting interminably in either his waiting room or freezing, half naked in an examining room, while he writes these lengthy diatribes ?Wonder what kind of a doctor he is ? Just asking….

Those of us who decline to take up the current fads of teeth-whitening, hair-coloring, skin-bleaching, plastic surgery and so on may still have plenty to offer. I was the office manager for three family physicians in my working years. One was constantly angry. He knew that he was probably going to develop Huntington’s Chorea and would have to quit. It happened, and he was ordered to surrender his license. Maybe Tucci is fighting a medical problem (he says surgical) that will affect his career. He certainly is angry, and might as well blame the government as the cause of the anger instead of another source.

Tucci actually claims to have actually “posted here [anything] pertinent to the history of medicine, the laws of economics, and other facts of reality ….” Logically, this reduces to a claim to have actually “posted here [anything] pertinent to the … facts of reality ….”

And yet he appears to have failed to have convinced hardly anyone of hardly anything that would qualify as fact.

Why? Some have suggested anger. But if anger, then from whence doth such anger arise? A lost license to practice medicine? A lost clientele? A seismic rift with the medical community? Apparently, no one here knows, and Tucci sho’ ain’t talkin’.

Still, a doctor who fails to have patience will ultimately fail to have patients.

Finally: “Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not to his own facts.” ― Daniel Patrick Moynihan.

Nothing, obviously. Our newest troll has hijacked the thread, using it as a forum for publicly practising his smarmiest insult words. As there is no substance to his rants, I’ve been observing his style; how his insults are constructed, how frequently the same words appear, and so on. Some of the young folks I know have made the conscious decision not to date much, if at all, while in school because they think romantic involvements would take too much time and energy away from the work of pursuing their academic and career goals. They’re confident about deferring that whole thing until later, apparently having no doubt they’ll find it at a better time. Others are in school partly in search of romantic involvements, with future career concerns running second. When I was in college in the late ‘60s, there was a classic joke about how so-and-so was going to school “to get her MRS.” Not Drew! She may get one of those, but not until she’s achieved her other goals first.

This has been a most entertaining day on here. Just to add to the mayhem, I think that “Dr. Tucci” must have had a visit from Nurse Ratchett. It was probably time for his meds. Perhaps the surgery was to be a frontal lobotomy and he had to get it all out before it was locked away in the crevices of his mind. Or perhaps thrown into the crevasses of his mind.>>Hey Linguist, no worse for the wear I see. Glad you survived those broadsides. No leaks in the ship?
