Therein lies your answer for why no US-led or US-funded covert action will be taken to ‘off’ Assad. With Putin standing prominently in the near-background of Assad, the US isn’t at all comfortable with taking out the brutal Syrian president. I don’t think O wants to piss off Putin by offing his Syrian puppet…By the way, am I the only one that thinks of “Beaker” (the lab assistant on the fabled Muppet Show) every time I see Assad? Assad IS one of the strangest-looking Middle-eastern men I’ve ever seen…an’ a head taller than most of them…Maybe his mother was a giraffe … or an ostrich…
