I wish the real thing looked like this, the part where elephant and Obama are smiling and working together on a project for real.

It would be so easy for Obama to just say yes. “Yes, Boehner, go ahead and cut Social Security and Medicare that seniors paid for and rely on. Yes, go ahead and give more tax breaks to the rich who have gotten all the new wealth created in this country over the last 12 years. Yes, go ahead and cut government spending and plunge us back into depression. Yes, Republicans, go ahead and take away regulations and their enforcement that protect us from corporate plundering. I agree, I agree, whatever you want.” IS THAT WHAT YOU GUYS WANT??? NOT ME!

Hey Obama has kept George Bush’s drone policy and his tax cuts maybe he will be a conservative by the time he’s done if we can get him to just stop spending.

It will either be the use of the 14th Amendment. or the minting of a trillion dollar platinum coin.

Dana Milbank pretty well nails the real cause of the Congressional problem in his latest column. The Richthuglicons have gerrymandered the Congressional districts to the point that it will take at least a 7.5% majority of total popular votes to win a simple majority of Democratic seats in the House. The Thugs have an all but election-proof majority built into the House and couldn’t care less what a majority of people think of them, democracy be, um, darned.

Pres. Obama has to keep up the pretense he disagrees fully with their point-of-view.

He was a Conservative before he was elected. Didn’t you know that? He just sounded better than McCain & Romney.

Can’t the GOP just fall into that pit that they have dug for another?

One would think that the party that had the US Debt Clock on stage at their nominating convention would have proposed a list of substantial spending cuts by now, and would have the guts to defend them.
