They’ll be there all day, and half the night.

Kicking back with some nog. I should have gotten some rum to put in it.

Slow night. I guess everybody else had living, breathing, flesh and blood friends.

Whooo -eee…..

I made it…. maybe not for long… the connection keeps going down…. but while I have it, I want to say

Merry Christmas, all my friends on Ballard Street!

Brian…. I’m alone this evening too… nothing wrong with that!

I swear I live and breathe, and I’m flesh and blood, and so are my local friends, AND the people I meet here, including you!

Tonight I’m just glad I can GET online.

I’m not going to disparage the friendships I’ve made here, cos when I can’t get here I realise they’re important to me.

So…. Merry Christmas…. and cheers! (And all I’m toasting with is water! Shoulda bought some nog. Silly me.)

Merry Christmas y’all. Waiting for our ice and snow storm to begin. When it turns into a Thunder snow I will be impressed. Seen those in the Texas panhandle a few times. Scooter knows the routine. Get some nap time. They will be there awhile.

Weather forcast for Chicago also shows flurries today and tomorrow at least.

Scooter must have gotten the name when much younger..We were at a huge party of some old friends of the family (especially a former bridesmaid of my daughter) Great potluck meal with roast beef and salmon + many side dishes and great deserts. I stuck to my decision to cut back on the drinking, tho many would not have known it. After being served a gin and tonic, I just had many refills with lime and tonic ;-D

Looks like this is the reason Scooter is no longer scooten, every walk ends at Edna’s house just a few doors down.Happy Holidays everyone, meet you at the Tiki later for a toast.

SusanS, That’s just blue hair, not the results of scooting. He’s showing solidarity with the old school women’s hair coloring style on Ballard St.

Today’s strip gave me a real chuckle. How many times I’ve seen the Scooters of this world give up the idea of a walk when one of their pet parents gets to gabbing ! Even my own dog has, on occasion, done precisely the same thing ( after realizing he can’t get any more pets or scratches out of the person I’m talking to. )

It ain’t an easy language….I gave up learning after a while. 44 consonants…high, medium, low, rising & falling tones…what I did like is the fact that you don’t have the verb tables that you have in Spanish, etc..Maybe I’ll try Hindi or Japanese.
