Mike, what’s not true about the cartoon? The amount? The fact that people are spending outrageous amounts of money to win the presidency? Or because you think Toles may be a liberal, your automatic reflex is to assert that he doesn’t know reality, regardless of whether what he says is true?
“it’s amazing that, a few years after the economy was brought to its knees by a gang of predatory Wall Street Plutocrats the GOP nominated another predatory Wall Street Plutocrat.” Best of all, he considers that to be his main selling point!
“China’s new leader will need a summer house. He will get the white house if O wins re-election.”As opposed to all the American jobs Romney gave to China?
In their 2003 book, “An End to Evil- How to win the war on terror”, David Frum and Richard Perle (Mr. AEI and “defense”) state after the fall of Baghdad, and of course the end of the Iraq war- in 2003!: “We can pay for it (war on “terror”) by holding the line on federal spending, setting tax rates that promote economic growth, and borrowing the remainder. We borrowed to win the Civil War, borrowed more to win World War I, and and World War II, borrowed again to win the cold war. Victory triggers economic prosperity-which in turn repays the debt we incurred to achieve the victory. How to pay for the war? The same steady answer that yields growth and prosperity in more normal times: keep taxes low, keep domestic spending under control, and borrow responsibly."
That’s what these two “geniuses” said in 2003!! How did that work in 2008? These guys retain power today, and Mitt and company march to their drum, for more war, spending, and no taxes, but more debt, how’s that work for you??
Don’t worry about that. I can cut taxes, increase military spending and the deficit will magically disappear, exactly the same way it did under George W. Bush and his identical policies. And, much like W and my backers on Wall Street, if I’m wrong, I don’t have to pay it back.
The actual “value” of the White House is currently $284 million. It BELONGS to the National Park Service, for the people. Which, given that Ryan and Romney in their plans, and given the House Natural Resources Committee, and other Republican controls, their view is to sell off all the public lands and resources; to the lowest bidder.
With all the other “issues” MItt is incompetent to deal with, control over those public lands and resources is a LOT more critical than the political issues being discussed.
Want to visit Yellowstone or Yosemite? Pony up $90 per person a day to Disney. Want the taxpayers oil to pay the national debt off? Forget it, Exxon Mobil, BP, and their buddies will be getting that oil with even less, or no royalties at all! Want to recreate on Forest Service or public lands? Again, Disney will be happy to accommodate you, maybe, for a price. Oh, right, the wildlife on those lands is managed by the states, but don’t worry, with the habitat all gone, the states will be out of the hunting and fishing business as well.

Yeah, and anyone who’d spend anything like that much to take up residence there is unfit to do so because they are obviously crazy.

We have a vague idea where the money comes from, but where does it actually go? Media stockholders?

Shhh, don’t tell anyone, but a lot of the companies backing me are the same companies who send our jobs and technology over to China.

If one can buy the presidency for $1 Billion and control the spending of over $4 Trillion over 4 years, then the payoff is a big one.

2000-2008 EIGHT years of incompetency. We will never fully recover, and it will be our own fault if R&R are elected.

At Romney’s level it would take care of maybe 10. For the average worker, it would take care of at least 75,000.
