And Trump is so very very happy that these tin-hatted conspiracy theorists believe in HIM.

They profess to like him, so he embraces them fully and defends their more idiotic assertions.

    Because Hannity/Ingrahm/Carlson told him to.

We do not place any restrictions on the mental capacities of the American “voter” – any more than we restrict those who choose to run for public office (other than they must have access to large amounts of money, that is).

In the forties, fifties and sixties, science fiction magazines were rife with stories of futures where science was used to pick our leaders – and how it “went wrong” time after time!WAIT! Was this all a nefarious “plot” to convince us all that using “intelligence” to choose our leaders was a bad idea?

Have I stumbled upon a “novel conspiracy theory”?

Well, if I have, let me just say it worked, because our current president is more than ample proof of the total LACK of intelligence in our political choices, so far.

Incidently, America is being “controlled” by not-so-secret societies – specifically, the Federalist Society, who, even while we were watching, have managed to install a majority of totally idiomatically conservative judges to the American judiciary – which will control America for the next generation. Thanks to people like “Moscow Mitch” and Don McGahn, it really doesn’t matter how “liberal” the legislative or executive branches of our government get; it will always be controlled by the conservative judiciary!

This means that such “progressive” bastions of America such as “Roe vs Wade” , Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, as well as the entire social safety net of social services is in mortal danger!

The ONLY question is how quickly they ALL will be dismantled, not IF they will be! They’re as good as gone, already. The results of the 2020 election will merely determine how quickly they leave. Remember, the judiciary has the power to slap down ANY law Congress cares to pass.

A number of decades ago there was a study that found that only something like 25% of American adults read more than one book a year… seems like it must be less than that now!

That is indeed one of my personal nightmares. Partly because I know that guy!  (twice). One had a pretty successful career that involved dealing with actually real situations and finding actually useful solutions working mostly in timber industry. The other one I know who “is” that guy has a degree, worked up to becoming head of IT at a university. We watched in horror as he mutated from a good, caring friend into this kind of paranoid crazy… via enjoying Rush Limbaugh’s cleverness (yes, in the 70s he was, at least somewhat clever) to Fox News, to becoming the local chairperson of the Tea Potty…

I used to feel sorry for them because of their lack of education but now I consider them to be what they probably always were – dangerous lunatic fringe – probably even worse than those crazy’s that came out of the Tea Party.

My observation is that the wealthy & GOP leadership, will vote for Trump regardless of what he does. They enjoy terrifying the rest of us with these insane theories and love provoking the people who they only hire to clean their bathrooms, landscape their lawns and cook their food take care of their cars and boats. Some Republicans may wise up in the end and realize that this idiot’s leadership is bringing us to the end of Democracy, others just laugh at those of us who worry. Please just vote your conscience. You know Mr. Trump is just a really bad man.
