As a student of history, I can stipulate that we’ve seen this play out before – in the 1850s when the Whig party fell apart ( and formed the republican party as well as the “Know Nothings”).
Yes, the GOP is about to dissolve – but we mustn’t take any pleasure in its dissolution – the breakup of the Whigs led directly to the American Civil War.
And if you’re paying attention, you’ll notice the same thing is happening, again. The War between the States was fueled at least in part because the South refused to accept a basic fact of life (slavery is Wrong!) – just like the current GOP refuses to accept the fact that they lost an election!
This refusal will eventually result in enough of the GOP believing that the election was “stolen” and their ONLY option is rebellion as it was in the 1850s – this was the result of the belief that the “white” race was superior to all others – and it’s about to be a case of history “redux”.
There was more than one monomaniacal idiot in the Whigs that precipitated the conflict in the 1850s and we have still another moron pushing for conflict today!
History has a way of repeating itself, as it is presently doing.
Incidently, in passing, Abraham Lincoln abandoned the republican party when he ran for reelection – winning reelection a a member of the “National Union Party” – even Lincoln couldn’t stand the GOP for long!
There needs to be about 75 million heads in the background behind President Trump. And the GOP politicos better be aware that they are indeed watching and will be voting. As far as the Big Brother comparison goes, that much applies to the Democrats and their cronies at Facebook, Twitter, the lame stream media etc. with their censorship and banning of conservative voices. Even Go Comics is guilty of this as they will shadow ban a conservative over the least offense while letting liberals getaway horrendous comments. That’s why I’m one of the very few conservative posters here while there’s a plethora of liberals. If you’re a conservative, you have to be real careful in what you post, a liberal, not so much. I see liberal comments every day in these ‘toons that would get a conservative banned had they posted such.
