I also like the multi-track story here… Nancy’s characteristic laziness, Nancy’s willingness to actually work in order not to have to work, and… a reqular theme here… a character declares one thing and then immediately acts in the completely opposite manner.
Next panel: Fritzi comes into Nancy’s room: “Nancy, could you shovel the driveway?”Nancy: " Are you kidding? Look how deep that snow is!"But this gag doesn’t work because you know Fritzi would be up first.

My life is complete, now that I’ve seen that shovel. I don’t know what I’d have done if its depiction hadn’t been fully up to snuff. Something horrid.
