Aunt Fritzi: Time for your medicine, Nancy.
Aunt Fritzi: Go on inside and TAKE it. Be sure to take a whole spoonful.
Box reads: TOY TEA SET
Has it ever been determined what her illness is??
Has it occurred to anyone that if the spoon is loaded with sugar, there’s no room for the medicine?
Literalism isn’t going to help Nancy any more than it did me. When I was six years old, I wasn’t behaving my best so my dad made me go to my room with the order, “Now don’t you be coming out this door.” I eventually looked at the bedroom window and thought, “He didn’t say anything about that,” so I removed the screen and climbed out. Dad was not impressed with my early grasp of specificity…and I thought adults were supposed to be the smart ones.
I love the facial expression in the second panel.
Nice try, Nancy!
NANCY, dats cwazy!
Nowadays, you can get the pharmacy to make syrups that taste good.
Just a spoonful of sugar.
so wait, they’re outside?
You’ve done it now, Nancy. You’re not getting enough medicine so the illness will spread across your body and you will DIE!!
