They’re Benson, Gorrell, Lester, Ramirez, Goodwyn, Limbaugh, Carlson, MacaNinnie, Cruz, Hawley, Santorum, O’Reilly, Conway, etc.

Nope, the unleashed “basket of ”deplorables” do not need any stand-ins or ringers. WYSIWYG, what you see is what you get. I will say the GOP has been a gift from God for these people mentioned in the toon. Manufactured crises, rip and read faux pas, a lack of empathy…on and on.

Congratulations on the insurrection, Lester. Only 5 deaths, so far, only one more than Benghazi.

By saying that, I certainly don’t mean to overlook your contributions to the 371,000 American deaths from covid.

Yesterday, there were crickets from the conservatives, both in print (including cartoonists), social media, and cable tv. Today, the pivot is obvious: blame everyone in the whole damned world EXCEPT the conservative cartoonists, tv pundits, and most of all, the conservative Republican politicians who have aided and abetted the Mussolini wannabe for the past four and a half years. Take a bow, Lester, you certainly did your part.

How will SNL approach this topic ? Probably like after 9-11 . . . . right, Mike ? With disgust.

Never fear, as long as we have the current Republican party mind-set, there will be material for comedians and cartoonists.What puzzles me the most is that 99 percent of cartoonists and comedians understand the basic problems, but the general public are simply not capable of understanding.

There’s a saying in journalism: “If it bleeds, it leads.” In the case of a transgressive, mentally ill executive, there was lots of bleeding and so lots of lead headlines about the latest outrage. Of course, this was a desirable outcome for a malignant narcissist.

The most influential media has been the right wing media. Duh. They were designed as propaganda, and that’s what they were/are. They use the worst kind of nasty propaganda just to sell cars and beer. But what really gets me riled is the lies. Boldfaced lies. In your face lies. Right up front lies. And those lies weren’t often called out, except to catalog them, which the Washington Post did.

I wish the media had been rougher on the narcissist. His Twitter account should have been frozen a long time ago.

They are the most vocal hedges against seditionists’ efforts to bring down the Great Experiment and install a fascist government with a strongman leader. One of the requisites of that is suppression of the press.

You certainly do your part, Mike. You are complicit.

An EMT friend heard through their grapevine that one of the dead had a taser hidden in his pants. Went to grab it and self-tazed. His muscles seized and he continued tazing himself until his heart gave out. At least the gene pool is a little cleaner now.

Who are the Snowflakes going to attack next? It would be wonderful if they ate their own. They have fattened up nicely living and grazing in their Mother’s basements.

Looks to me like Lester is making an accurate point: all of those institutions are going to have to work a lot harder to attract eyeballs without Trump to kick around. Love him or hate him, he builds ratings!

Did a certain political cartoonist whose name I will not mention (but whose initials are MIKE LESTER) get a message from an owner/publisher about changing his tune on tRump and the “rally” attendees/events 6 Jan 21, OR ELSE?

If anybody thinks Mike Lester is changing his tune, his Twitter feed included a post criticizing the shooting of Ashli Babbitt, saying she didn’t look like a domestic terrorist, and expressing sympathy for her family. He apparently had no sympathy to express for capitol police officer Brian Sicknick or his survivors. I’d give you a specific link, but Mike Lester’s Twitter account disappeared at about 3pm this afternoon. Was it removed by Twitter (there’s no suspension notice) or did Mike stomp off in a huff because Twitter won’t let people whose incitements lead to murder post there any more?

NRM and Save Alec Baldwin poster signs are the funniest. Thanks for the laugh Mr. Lester.
