Watching Congress trying to rescue the economy is like watching a pelican bale out the Titanic.

I never understood how pork, or any other “add-ons” can be attached to a bill when the additions have nothing at all to do with the original intent of the bill. I see it’s done, but I still don’t understand why we allow them to do it.

Same right wing lies. Trump is so afraid of Pelosi he hasn’t talked to her in 5 months.

The elephant tried to hide bigly payouts to hotel/golf resort owners in the senate package until Nancy put a screeching halt to that gambit.

If a company is public, does the government not get issued stocks for bailout money, and if not, then why not?

RNC meme of the day continued. The Republican plan was to give $500B (1/4 of the bailout) to the Trump family to dole out without any public records for 6 months. People were considered “special interests” and corporations were priority.

Lisa, pull your head out of the RNC outhouse john, please.

Damn those Democrats for caring about special interest groups like the working class! Just give all the money to the rich, just like in 2008- this time they pinkie-swore not to spend all of it on stock buybacks!

That isn’t a “Covid 19 rescue package”, it is a “big business corporate welfare package”

The people who are really suffering from Covid 19 are the small businesses and people not able to pay rent because they lost their jobs.

What is she saying here? That Congress gets all the rescue money. They just voted themselves money? Not the people?

    Well, that’s true. I guess.

tabby 3 minutes ago@rwh2“Anyone with a brain knows Pelosi didn’t expect to get all those things, but they did allow room for negotiation. Benson’s cartoon is NOT spot on in that it conveniently forgets the half a TRILLION of pork WITHOUT oversight that Republicans wanted to push through. What Nancy wanted was peanuts compared to that. Plus, we’re going to need mail-in voting. This virus will be around for quite a while.”

I thot this should be where everyone could see it. The Democrats had to have something to leverage with as the Republicans tend to not give up anything.

Yeah right, Lisa. We want help from the party that called the pandemic a hoax and failed to respond, instead of help from the party that has always been in favor of funding and supporting the CDC instead of cutting it. Not to mention Il Douche disbanding the pandemic response team.

Come on! Use your brain before you lose it!

Not to mention Il Douche disbanding the pandemic response team. And now Dolt 45 wants to lift all quarantining and social distancing to try and help get himself re-elected.

Come on! Use your brain before you lose it!

Typical frickin’ Trumpist: Help for “everybody” is labeled “pork”, “pandering” and “politics” as is any attempt to limit payout to the obscenely rich. Are they really that beholden, or is it TDS?

The “pork” that the Repubs are claiming the Dems added are things like mandates that companies that take the bailouts have to reduce their carbon footprint, retain employees, they can’t buy back stock like they did with the Repub 2017 tax cut and laid-off workers get support. The Republican plan was to give a stack of money to Mnuchin who could dole it out to large corporations without having to report who gets the money and there are no strings or oversight.

OMFG, Seriously, let’s be clear here, this is what the Republican party have come to: ‘let’s genocide the elderly’ to save the wealthy? Is this the government of the United States or North Korea? If this was any previous Administration would we not be outraged, immediately send troops & remove this (I don’t’ have the words to describe this POS).Tell you what, #YOUFIRST! To every trump supporter that is old enough to be a grandparent (& lets face it in states that are trump’s base that age could be what 32?), the diehard #MAGAts, & willing to show us Liberals just what you are made of, your resolve, your diehard support & willing to die for your beloved orange messiah, I think you should all show us the way!But you should all do it fast, show us up. You should all gather in your local town square, save yourself a lot of suffering, make a huge batch of Kool-Aid with cyanide & drink it. THAT WILL SHOW US!! We will properly bury you ALL as martyrs, we will properly mourn you all as martyrs, We will even do a 45 gun salute!! But you got to show us the way!! YOU FIRST! Then we will follow! #magaShowUsTheWay #magaMartyrs

Republicans want companies to have the funds they need to take advantage of the millions of Americans who suddenly have no income & can’t leave their houses.
