Watching Congress trying to rescue the economy is like watching a pelican bale out the Titanic.

I never understood how pork, or any other “add-ons” can be attached to a bill when the additions have nothing at all to do with the original intent of the bill. I see it’s done, but I still don’t understand why we allow them to do it.

The “pork” that the Repubs are claiming the Dems added are things like mandates that companies that take the bailouts have to reduce their carbon footprint, retain employees, they can’t buy back stock like they did with the Repub 2017 tax cut and laid-off workers get support. The Republican plan was to give a stack of money to Mnuchin who could dole it out to large corporations without having to report who gets the money and there are no strings or oversight.

Nothing like taking the biggest problem in the last 10 years and adding on Liberal wish list items to the solution, crafted by Republicans. Dem’s – always looking for a shortcut to get their bad ideas thru without people noticing. Ideas so bad they always have to be mandated because no one wants them.
