It’s not self defense if you are committing a crime at the time. Bank robbers don’t get to plead self defense. Rottenhouse illegally obtained a rifle through a strawman purchase and then illegally carried it around while violating the city’s curfew. It’s amazing how many RWNJs believe he was defending himself and should get off.
Rittenhouse will stand his ground no matter how far he has to go to find someone to defend against, and he will carry his rifle at the ready just in case he has to instigate it himself.
My biggest worry about cases like these is the precedent it sets. If he is acquitted, then it becomes easier for people to play vigilante. We don’t need that; we need a rule of law, not a rule of whoever has the most guns.
This is a kid that thought he could finally take part in a real-life video game, and thought it was OK to start shooting real people. Probably been living in a fantasy land most of his life. Still he went there looking for trouble and found it. Entirely his fault and he is a murderer. 100 percent premeditated.
Well, it turns out that he was NOT illegally carrying it. And it turns out that he only fired in self defense against people who were assaulting him. Despite the large number of protesters in the area he didn’t shoot any of them.
“The defense also argued those shot should have just run away from the little punk.”
Not true. The defense argued that those shot should not have assaulted him in the first place. He did not pursue anyone – in fact, he was running away from his assailants.

Broken News: Kyle Rittenhouse acquitted on all charges. “JUST-US” was served as the cartoon showed in advance.
