What can it all mean?!?
I know the hand drawings are their signature but Gil’s in panel 3 is odd. Looks like he has 6 fingers!
P1, Just interview the one that fumbled.
P2, R&W seem to have lost their way and are using today as filler, hoping to be inspired by Sunday’s NFL action, maybe.
P3, Gil’s in his 80’s maybe he’ll become the new Crypt Keeper.
There was Mordecai ‘Three Finger’ Brown. More recently there was a pitcher I believe, named Alphonseca who had a sixth residual finger on both hands. It was a non-functional little finger. Nonetheless, he remains the only player in my memory who could give a ‘high’ six.
Addendum. He always won when playing ‘Little Piggy’.
Shyness is nice and shyness can stop you from doing all the things in life you’d like to
In all reality , Kaz stumps Gil by using the word cryptic in a sentence.
“Yup?” Gil focused on watching The Duke.
So Chance Macy is a shy, 15 year old introvert. Assuming Gil didn’t redshirt him. Who devours fine paperback Boo library literature. As long as he rushes for 180 yards a game and isn’t Jewish like David Greene (Saturday night games+sabbath= DNPs), a 2nd place finish in The Valley is doable.
By next week ( after rushing for 210) he will be like Rickey Williams, wearing his helmet to talk to teachers. Maybe with a bong mask.
Time for Gil to go all Bobby Knight on Kaz & Douchey
Carlos May of the White Sox played after he lost his thumb in a weapons accident. So Gil should be fine.
Carlos dropped a mortar round in the tube but his thumb did not clear. Years before PC’s, Sox fans held a thumb drive for Carlos. His post baseball career as an umpire and hitch-hiker were put on permanent hold.
CJ….. got any Ritalin you can spare? looks like somebody has run out.
Gil does his best Quirt Manley impersonation in the last panel. (5,000 bonus points for any one that knows who that is without looking – except for maybe ‘Bear’. )
Let me guess. Gil is protecting Chance because he’s aware that he’s a huge introvert. But Kaz has no idea. Please don’t let this be the case because it is starting to sound like a really dumb plot. Which of course probably means that it’s true.
And speaking of true, it’s true that today’s issue of Mopped Up Thorp is online: https://moppedupthorp.wordpress.com/
