Whether a guy notices it or not, he can never go wrong by telling his wife she looks nice. Same goes for people in the work place, a genuine compliment is always met with appreciation.

When I got married 55 years ago, I explained that I would NEVER be put out of my bedroom. Not happy, YOU sleep where ever you wish. I will be sleeping in my bed!
