If there were such a thing as an AI that could start “thinking” for itself (we should pray that never happens) wouldn’t “visiting the server farms down south” wreck havoc in millions of computers? We’re getting into Person of Interest territory here, which got more and more outrageous as the seasons progressed.
Wasn’t able to comment on yesterday’s strip in time, but I need to put my 2 cents in on Mysta’s non-reaction to her biological father Posie Ermine being murdered in front of her vs her desire to be “related” to the Moon Gov. I’ve got all kinds of relatives – blood related and not (including my adopted son) so I understand that we make our families, and I know she’s got total amnesia about her life pre-Mysta, but I’m still bothered by not seeing her even feel a bit sorry for Posie. Did no one tell her that he was her father?
Yeah, I was wondering about Matty. They spent a good amount of time introducing him, then seemed to forget about him. I guess he didn’t really have a role to play in the most recent Bribery storyline. I suspect we’ll have a special storyline dedicated to him eventually. Perhaps Matty will come across some of Mr. Crime’s old files and go into business for himself as a Criminal Mastermind.
Interesting idea. SinceLee/ T-Bolt knows of him, would it be possible to disconnect the ethernet wires from Bribery’ server, cutting ol Matty off from any escapes, then herding his digital form onto a flash card. I can a,most envision a triumphant Sam holding that little sliver of plastic and metal in his hand and telling Tracy “We got hm!” Then at 5e station, reinstall him on a computer that is isolated from the net completely. Tell him to either talk or he would be downloaded back into the flash card he is installed in would be simply be taken and melted down…or, the hard drive would be completely reconfigured….so, no more Matty……
A little “down time” down South on the server farms? “Yes!”
Matty and Ignatz will survive, ready to show up on your computer screens again when their Time comes. Maybe they will facilitate Mr. Bribery’s next escape from prison, or maybe they will just bide their time until called upon, whether by Bribery or by someone else (would Sawtooth be aware enough to call them up?).
There are still plenty of loose ends to tie up, plenty of background to fill in, but I’m not sure the tight requirements of the strip will allow those things to take place “on camera” for us to see….

Hello, greetings, casual readers of past Tracy stories. I’m here because I’m on 2 missions. The first is something I’ve never done before, read each Tracy story by Mike Curtis (or his occasional guest writer) in one sitting each. I feel his stories are worth it. IMHO, Curtis is by far the best post-Gould writer this strip has ever had, and we’re all lucky to have him.
My second mission is to provide an immediately useful Featured Comment whenever needed. My 3 friends below will reply to me. You can read their replies if you like, but their only real purpose is to bump up this comment to the Featured Comment.
There are 2 basic types of immediately useful Featured Comments: the first type is to provide you with a Mumblespeak translator when needed. I truly enjoyed looking up the codes! I had to convert octal-binary-hex to program machines, but never to ASCII! I learned today!
