Yeah, really! I think the only thing commonly kept that could keep up with those kids would be a ferret. Thoughts?

Saved from becoming Big Shirley’s chew toy by a toothsome two year old. The irony!

Chewing on unusual objects seems to big in Otterloop Clan! Petey & his arm, Alice & the stuffed rabbit…..!

Alice is the personification of the “terrible twos” in the second panel.

When my oldest was teething, my doctor suggested I give her rawhide chews. “Kids always want to chew on your wallet – or your arm, so leather is a good choice. The chews are made to certain sanitary standards, and you can rinse them off if it worries you. Just don’t tell people way you are buying them.” Dr. P had five children, so I figured she knew what she was talking about.

Actually, she was my inspiration. She went to medical school after her crew was in school.

As a child, I once did the same thing with a Hershey bar.

If Alice is sometimes a handful now at age four, just imagine her as a “terrible two”; the mind boggles. Clearly, Madeline is a survivor, as is Polyfill….
