    All the Republicans say that Government spending can’t create jobs.Why are they flip-flopping now?

    Government cannot create jobs except for government workers to enforce job killing rules and regulations.

    Government CAN create jobs in the private sector by keeping out of the private sector’s way and let the entrepreneurs do what they do best: create jobs and put money where it will do the most economic good, in the hands of the worker.

    Stop with the laws, Congress; stop with the regulations, Executive department. You’re BOTH killing this country’s greatness.

    BTW: It ain’t your money!!! You didn’t earn it, you STOLE it from me and my working peers’ pocketbooks!

    How many times does this need to be said? Because the Republicans filibustered on nearly every bill, NOTHING could be done. The Democrats needed a supermajority, and Republicans had already vowed not to give him anything. THAT’s what happened with the majority – Republicans made having a majority in both houses no longer enough.

    “yeh that three letter word J O B S.”1) That’s FOUR letters.2) The Republicans promised a laser like focus on jobs, yet wasted a lot of time trying to repeal health insurance reform over 30 times. What have they done to encourage job growth?

    There wasn’t even a year for a suuper majority because a republican threw a temper tantrum after losing to Al Franken. Because of that and 8 months worth of recounts, Franken wasn’t seated untill JULY ‘09. Well into the legislative session.Not to mention no other president has faced this leval of sheer hatred from the other side. Say what you will about democrat attitudes towards bush, no democrat stood up durring bush’s SOTU address and shouted “You Lie”. No democratic congressmen said that their number one goal was to deny bush a second term. The democrats didn’t block THEIR OWN LEGISLATION because bush agreed with it. The republicans are a selfish, petty group of people and they all need to be run out.

    Obama had a filibuster PROOF MAJORITY in the Senate (I.e. 60 votes) his first year.====No, Obama only had a filibuster proof majority for about 6 months. Remember how the Repubs kept Al Franken waiting through innumerable recounts and legal wrangling until he was finally sworn in as the 60th Democratic Senator in JULY of ’09. And then a few weeks later Kennedy died.

    Having a hard time with counting? Job is three letters. Jobs is four. Explains why you think the republicans will help you; when they won’t.

    @Bill Ewing

    Mr. Ewing, tell your vision to the American Workers who survived the Republican made depression of the 30’s by making America ready for WWII through FDR’s and congresses creation of essential jobs with such program as the WPA, CCC, TVA, REP, etc.; the stabilizing of America’s Banking, railroads and farmers with the Emergency Banking Act, Glass–Steagall Act which created the FIDC, Federal Emergency Relief Administration, Reconstruction Finance Corporation, the Agricultural Adjustment Administration (AAA), Securities and Exchange Commission etc.; and regulation and control of unfair, tyrannical businesses and corporations through the National Industrial Recovery Act (NIRA) or Wagner Act, National Labor Relations Act, etc.

    All of the above and more were necessary in 1932 to right the failing American ship following 12 yrs. of failed Republican rule. We cannot let a Ryan and Romney who, like Republicans Harding, Coolidge, and Hoover, would define the purpose of Government as being that of protecting the opulent rich from the masses.

    This current recession should have been addressed much more aggressively as FDR had been able to do. Unfortunately today’s Republicans either do not know America’s history and/or (again) are only interested/concerned about the opulent rich, subsequently they prevented a more positive, aggressive Obama recovery act too America’s detriment.

    Finally, my father and mother lived through the transition from the failed Republican rule of the 20’s and into and through the successful Democratic administrations, to include (if you will) Republican President Eisenhower who we saw as a Republican in Democratic Cloth, the creation of the great American Middle Class and America being at Her greatest. Therefore I know firsthand that your kind is only looking out for yourself and your rich peers or one who has been duped by the rich and/or Ian Rand’s atheist non-Christian, non-compassionate, and un-American philosophy and visions

    He never had 61 votes in the Senate and he had to compromise everything he did just to get stuff passed. Google ‘Ben Nelson – D Nebraska’ and get back to me.
