Geesh! How long has Quill been gone? Pretty sure it’s only been a couple weeks, but “he kept in touch at first, then he sorta slowed down…” sounds like he’s been gone for a year or 2 (yes, I know…Pittsville time zone)

Luann is 18?! Then maybe it’s not so bad that I comment on her sweater in the right frame. Kinda like when AE’s skirt got shorter & shorter.

“Baldy style analysis/debate about the parallel universes in Luann”.You should know that you can’t communicate between parallel universes by mere time travel. You have to use the 5th or 6th dimension.

As OPPOSED to YOU, Luann endlessly waiting for that “Handsome Prince” to come and SWEEP You off those Over-Sized Feet.

I BLAME Your Mom, brainwashing You to sleep with all that Fairy Tale bedtime story propaganda.

    Uhhh. Gotta RUN.

I figure Luann’s been in high school the entire time Brad been hoping for Toni, (and now been with her) so it’s time she graduated, …and all her little friends too. We know this story progresses, Brad used to be in HS, so was TJ, …time to move on I’m afraid, Mr. Greg, time for a community college where all her friends, even Tiffany, go to, one that’s obviously in town…all but Delta. Not that I want to see her go, but she’s the smartest one and most ambitious, so she should be going Ivy league.

“we are talking about teen boys here, and there has to be physical beauty to attract them”:-You must know different teenage boys than the ones I know. To be attractive, a female simply has to be female. --Admittedly some are more attractive or acccessible than others, but that just means the boys go for the low hanging fruit first.

A few years ago, I exchanged emails with Greg about the characters aging. He said he didn’t want to do the “For Better or For Worse” thing where they age in real time. I replied that he might consider having them age one year for every 3 in real time; his reply was that he couldn’t see putting Luann in college within the next 5 years.

But based on today’s strip, Brad seems to be aging along those lines. In real time, Brad met Toni on January 19, 2002, and she professed her love on July 21, 2009. That’s 7.5 years that we’re now told were 4. He was 18-19 then, which makes him 22-23 now. Luann, now looking at colleges, seems to have aged only 1 year; 2 at most.

“Brad has been unsuccessfully chasing Toni for 4 years according to today’s strip,”-Has he been unsuccessful up to the present or was he unsuccessful for four years? It could be argued that he caught her. It’s also possible he is currently thinking, “Bah, if she were ever going to yield to my manly advinces, she would have done so by now. Time to look elsewhere.”We know at one time that would have made his mother happy.

@Leviticus A couple of years ago – Greg zoomed into the future for one frame – Luann’s vision of herself having a cocktail in a sophisticated bar – Luann was lookin good. And a great personality always adds to a woman’s looks.

Me thinks too many people looking for too much logic in a comic strip. What ever happened to just enjoying the goings on, and not trying to figure out the math? This is more about evoking ideas and feelings that we can relate to, rather than a novel with a specific time line. It must be so frustrating trying to entertain the masses, while so many are reading so much reality into the fantasy.

This is actually in reply to all your comments: You are having way too much fun with this. At first I thought you took it too seriously, but now I feel you may have an ulterior motive for reading the strip and commenting in the first place. You too like to evoke feelings and emotions. Maybe you should write a strip…

“Put 2 young ladies on a football field, one standing at each goal post. One is Phillis Dillar at 18, the other is Angelina Joline at 18. They wear the exact same bikini. The girls just stand there, doing nothing, saying nothing. The high school football team comes onto the field. Just the team. No coaches, trainers, teachers, or supervisors. Now jump 15 minutes into the future. Which goal post has the most football players around it?”-If Angelina snubbed them and hurt their sensitive feelings and Phyllis rolled out the WELCOME mat, Phyllis would have her hands full one way or another.
