No, they just don’t share the same interest. In fact, her mom is extremely supportive, hence the science camp. Way to go Val! It would be great if all parents were in tune with their kids interests and try to guide them in the right direction. Instead of living vicariously living THROUGH them.

There was an Apricot tree with the most amazing, elaborate tree house….a board across two main branches. Could sit there for what seemed hours.
Alix is very lucky to have such adults in her life.

Heh, my sisters and I grew up on a creek. Thanks to it, a copious quantity of National Geographics and active imaginations, we toured the world along the 1/2 mile length we were allowed to roam. Sorry, Auntie, but Alix’s adventures are totally normal.

When I was a teenager I lived out in the country. Behind our house were woods with a creek that moved down into a waterfall. It was like paradise there.
