I’m with Heavy B on this one. Cheney’s one redeeming factor (or should I say “mitigating”) is that he’s never joined in the outcry against Gay Rights, and has never distanced himself from Mary. But is that enough?

“Once upon a time there was a peasent woman and a very wicked woman she was. And she died and did not leave a single good deed behind. The devils caught her and plunged her into a lake of fire. So her guardian angel stood and wondered what good deed of hers he could remember to tell God. ‘She once pulled up an onion in her garden,’ said he, ‘and gave it to a begger woman.’ And God answered: ‘You take that onion then, hold it out to her in the lake. and let her take hold of it and be pulled out. And if you can pull her out of the lake, let her come to Paradise, but if the onion breaks, then the woman must stay where she is.’ The angel ran to the woman and held out the onion to her. ‘Come,’ said he, ‘catch hold and I’ll pull you out.’ And he began cautiously pulling her out. He had just about pulled her out, when the other sinners in the lake, seeing how she was being drawn out, caught hold of her so as to be pulled out with her. But she was a very wicked woman and she began kicking them off. ’I’m to be pulled out, not you. It’s my onion, not yours.’ As soon as she said that, the onion broke. And she fell back into the lake and is burning there to this day.” — Dostoyevsky, from The Brothers Karamazov

I always thought their daughter being gay was the only cruel joke played on the two of ‘em. But it’s piker’s revenge for what the two of them have done TO this nation, our troops, our economy, and posterity. I can’t believe the team actually decided to waste an organ on this creep. He IS the al Zawahiri to "W"’s rich boy bin Laden-western version.

Maybe cheney’s acceptance of his daughter’s minor difference is like the woman handing an onion to a beggar woman.

Maybe he will be offered the same chance? Will the outcome be the same?

Was it the heart he had installed?

I have this hunch that you will receive just as much compassion on judgment day as you have shown others regardless of whether you are left wing or right wing.

and Reagan’s son is gay. that must have been hard on an actor who studied John Wayne for his presidential schtick.

Now what would really be a “gotcha situation” would be if one of Santorum’s kids turned out to be gay!
