He’s looking for the distributor under the car? She definitely needs a different mechanic, and “Car Talk” WILL be missed!(and he doesn’t appear to be looking at the brakes either.)
Well, with over 1200 good shows in the bag ( and who knows how many bad ones! ) Car Talk will go on. Click and Clack just won’t be recording any new material.
The problem with replacing them is the same as the problem of replacing Garrison Keillor on A Prairie Home Companion — it’s the guys, not the topic, that makes the shows entertaining. Anyway, here’s hoping we can get some nice radio shows from the next generation of clever Americans.
If you ever go to Harvard Square, face the building with the Curious George store and look up. You will see a window with old-fashioned gold lettering reading: DeweyCheatham& Howe. Thanks, Car Talk!
Both, the distributor and disc brakes have rotors. Not all brakes are disc and some engines are distributorless. Maybe this auto has inboard discs on the back?
I used to dream of winning the lottery just so I could call my local NPR station and ask how big a donation it would take to get those guys off the air.
Lonecat: good one, “politically”. But also exposed is some who speak of which they don’t know, with authority.
Radish: my Lotus will still have a distributor, but no rotor (going electronic) when it goes back on the road, it will still have four disc brake rotors though! (My Trooper will still have a rotor in that “pointy way”)
Click and Clack were more about fun that mechanical complexities though. Which, car guys ARE full of jokes, and stories, especially if they own, or ever have owned, British cars.(or Italian)

“Liberals pay to replace muffler belts.”If that actually existed, I very much doubt Romney, Canter, Boehner, Bush, et alia would change it themselves.
