It’s sad to read the defensive posturing of the right wing supporters of the corporate take over of the world (mike five, harleyquinn, etc). It’s depressing because it just means its going to be that much harder to establish a truly just society, having to fight these corporate trolls and their conservative resistance to change. No, not really. Many people have used drugs, some prescribed by doctors, the kind I’ve used. Some over the counter as advertised heavily on TV, you probably don’t think bad of that. Some the “illegal” kind for recreational purposes or to escape a horrendous reality of being poor.
The difference is taking drugs was not an attack on another person. the mittens chopping off some guys hair is an attack on another person. Something mittens has shown to be in his nature, more subtle, but still an attack on another person, and in fact on many other people, just more refined an still self-entitled. The mittens is a bully, no way around that. That is not the kind of leader I want to follow.

John Lauber’s family hasn’t said the incident did not or could not have happened. They are upset that his name has been dragged into the political arena, and are unhappy with the portrayal of him as a victim. It’s too bad Lauber is not around to tell his side of the story.It’s interesting that Romney has flat out denied that he bullied anyone. I’m not quite as old as Romney, but I recall a couple of times when I was a jerk to other kids in school. I also recall feeling bad about it. By High School, standing up against bullies was a major part of my identity.The real story is how Romney handled this storyline. His apology was weak and his response was positively a disgrace for someone who claims to have leadership qualities. He had a golden opportunity to show his heart and compassion by talking about the problems with bullying, but… Alas! He has neither.

The true character issue is that he refused to make a true apology for his youthful behavior. “I don’t remember it, but we didn’t think of him as gay, and if anyone was hurt, I apologize.” The cartoon really gets to the issue — Romney has always been rich, always on top, and doesn’t get that the average American cannot borrow $20,000 from his or her parents; and not everyone who truly wants a job can find one.
@HQ: Are you claiming that a Fox News show like “Fox and Friends” is commentary show, that they should be regarded as different than “News,” with its supposed striving for neutrality? Because Fox News doesn’t label it as such—look at the set—Fox News logos BUILT INTO THE SET, and every on-screen graphic has a Fox News logo. It would be an easy matter for that “commentary” show to have its own logo, but Fox News THEMSELVES brand it as “news.” And when one of the “anchors” says " …people have been saying…" they mean “the producers of the show and higher-ups want us to push this out there…”
