Hmmm, and yesterday, after only nine years of confinement “defendants” got their first shot at a hearing in a U.S. courts martial. Which, given the fact they do not represent a foreign power in a military, why ARE they being tried in a military court? Consult your “Patriot Act” and “Military Commissions Act”, and then read the Constitution, and think, “this could be ME!” ’cause it could!

Why do you believe the nature of ourexistence has to be either one or the other of those two possibilities?Of course, you have that right -free country and all, etc.

“It could be anyone plotting to terrorize the country so it could be you.”-—Your assertion actually fits you better.

We are like animals in the sense we eat other animals. We are unlike animals in the sense I have to wear pants when I leave the house. Hard to detirmine where we stand.

Of course we’re animals. We aren’t plants. And we sure aren’t angels.

If there was real justice in America we wouldn’t have to be going around trying to sell it, it would speak for itself so loud and clear that nothing more would need be said.

Some Democrats are not without fault in either “Patriot Act” or Guantanamo, but your reminder of where most of the responsibility lies is important to remember for the coming election. Progressives who don’t think Obama or the Democrats have done enough to undo the damage done by the Bush administration (and they are right) should stop complaining and get involved in improving the party.
