All afternoon reducing stock, dicing vegetables, hand rolling little pasta footballs. Simmer and stir every 15 minutes or so.Or dump some mushy, salty stuff in a pan…
Don’t worry Holly. With all those germs floating around in the air, you will come down with the same sickness as all the others. Then, they can cater to you!
more directions needed. how long do you heat it? what stovetop setting should you use? after it is heated, then what? do you eat it out of the pan or put it in a bowl? what kind of bowl? what color bowl? do you drink it or use a spoon? how large a spoon?if you need directions on how to cook soup, you need PLENTY of directions
It’s easy to get spoiled by the modern technology. I find myself resenting microwave dinners that get ‘complicated’ with extra steps, like: “Heat 2 minutes, remove film, stir, re-cover, heat for 2 more minutes.”
very few soups require water today….most tell you NOT to add water, if they are the hearty soups the cans say they are. And who adds a full can of water to most of the others like chicken noodle or tomato? I add half a can of water to the noodly soups and half a can of milk to the tomato and then a bit of butter to it. makes both the noodly soup and the tomato soup rich and tasty and not just some kids soup.
Add parsley and garlic to the soup! It really works! But that would require Holly to chop the garlic, by hand, oh dear, that would be WAY too much work for her!
Yes Shika that would also work. I like the garlic better though, because it clears the nasal passages pretty well, and when you’re sick no one comes near you anyway, LOL!

Now you know, Holly, how your mother, aunt and grandmother feel when they do it. No appreciation whatsoever from you.

Like that was so hard. Or better yet Holly, heat it in the microwave.

Give her a break. She remembered to turn on the oven. I think.

I half expected her to just microwave it. Works in a pinch.

Make it gourmet, Holly, and add some spices or a sprig of parsley! ;-)

She definitely needs an attitude adjustment!

I love how the effort of dumping soup into the pan causes Holly to have to stick her tongue out

Wait till she gets to the tea and toast course.

This is where Holly should have her epiphany—-having a family of her own means having to live this life. That should lock her knees together.

See Holly, you can do anything once you learn how to read.
