Poor Gunth. He’s never gonna get “any” if he keeps this up. He needs to grow a pair and realize Rosa is good to go!

I love the strip, but I too would love to see Gunther take a few steps towards a more adult relationship with Rosa. I’m sure there’s a lot of humor and tenderness that can be explored in a first date or two – and maybe helping Gunth to start to grow out of that teen-aged awkwardness. How about it Mr. Evans?Orion

Gunther’s too scared to strike up a conversation with a Realdoll at this point. Greg’s pulling out all the stops to screw up the best chance Gunther’s got at a girlfriend because Rosa is not Luann. Those two emotional wrecks deserve each other.

If Gunther is dumb enough to let Rosa eat lunch by herself, I predict that empty seat next to her won’t be empty for long.

again… why can’t she just ask him out… why does it not count as her being a “wuss” if she doesn’t ask him out? Or is courage just not expected of females?

I think that Rosa is going to lose interest in Gunther. She would see more of him if he was deployed in Afganistan. I realize that Pittsville is the hormone suppression capital of the world, but these teens get the green light in relationships, and then let them wither and die.

Rosa is so pretty, so alone in panel 1. Gunther is a total wuss. He deserves nothing, no one, if he continues to act like a scared bunny.

I didn’t know any guys this spineless in high school. There were some that stammered a bit, and were a little shy, but none displaying the poor attitude in themselves that Gunther is showing here. I like Gunther, usually, but he’s become spineless and annoying. I hope something changes soon.

    Hey, Greg!

    Let’s PUSH the envelope, huh?

Since, Rosa is ALONE how about introducing her to Quill?

When Gunther and Luann see their supposed “love interests” with someone else, maybe, just Maybe, they will be SPURRED into ACTION.

,,,,Or BETTER still, FINALLY realize that the G-Man and Lu are REALLY Made for each other and GET SERIOUS!

Thank You and God Bless America!!!

Okay, where are all you Feminazis now? Rosa just ask Gunther out. Women are always whining about being equel so be equel and take equel responsibility for not getting together. This is not all Gunthers fault. She knows he wants to but won’t pull the trigger. So, do it her self. Sheesh!

OK – that’s it Gunther. Make an appointment with your doctor and tell him that the sedatives he has been prescribing are not working – they don’t give him relief. Time for a shot of uppers to counteract the lethargy and inactive libido.

Since most of us know that Greg puts these strips to bed weeks ago, to accuse us of “bullying” him – or a character – is really silly. Maybe you missed the Sherif’s comment a few days ago, but every comic strip creator knows that “bullying” is the sound that the forum of a successful strip makes. Altho people will bitch and moan, they’ll still show up and read it – and comment. Your “recommendation” is great – but only if you don’t like Greg and don’t wish him success. So if you don’t like the commentary and think it should be 100% pro or not at all, perhaps you should just skip over the ones you don’t approve of.

But he went to the movies on a date with Rosa. I would think after that he would have more confidence to at least talk to her. Speaking of that movie date, we never really got a good glimpse of how well it went

But it’s just a comic after all _

Love the strip – but would like to request that you find a better word than “wuss.” Sure, lots of people use it — but that does not change the fact that it is a sexist insult word, based on the idea that being like a girl is a bad thing.

To someone shy, life is as slow as this comic’s been this week. Sure, he’s already been out with her so this isn’t credible, but Mr. Evans is obviously setting up a plot for next week. Here’s a great line, hope it’s accurate:

“The longer it takes, the longer it lasts!”

Boy Greg….you really need a brake from this strip, get a ghost comic to write it for a while. I’ve never seen so much teen relationship turmoil in my life. Does anyone in your strip actually have a peaceful moment…..even Toni and Brad are like on pins and needles all the time. Oops I take that back Brad and LuAnn’s parents seem sound. You must have a lot of turmoil in your life to be so caught up in a repetative teenage disfunctional lifestyle comic. Aren’t you like 50 years old?

LuAnn used to be a fun/funny comic to read back in the day with Puddles and fighting with big brother Brad…..now it’s like some t’ween show on Nickelodean or a teenie soap opera. I used to like reading this, but anymore it’s almost…..well, I don’t know….it’s not funny, it’s not interesting…..I really don’t know how to describe it.

Your point has been made, Wesley, by many, me included, over the years. You are correct, if this product was really inferior, poorly constructed, poorly drawn, poorly this, poorly that, etc., they and the rest of us would tune it out and spend our time elsewhere.

Fact is, Bill the B and other “critics” are the biggest fan boys of all in this entire pool. Much like the heckler whose primary purpose is to draw attention to himself, they have a role here — and look at us — responding to it. It’s all part of dynamics generated by a big readership.

I would suggest that really serious academic inquiries and criticisms be taken to another ring closer to Evans himself. Hey, he’s been a successful professional for decades, he’s heard just about every negative imaginable and he’s a big enough guy to listen and respond to the harshest of fans. Why talk behind his back when you can bend his ear all by yourself?

JJ? I’m talking to you, too. Speak up, son. The world will adore you and respond when you offer up some kwality kontent — not that *rap that begins with a “k”.

Greg’s blog at http://www.thecartooniststudio.com/blog/greg is practically his front porch. Check it out.
