The stop sign was put up by far right politicians or Roger Ayles and Fox News.

Okay, the sign: “There’s nothing to see here. Keep on moving” was a caption that a girl had on her sign which showed the UC Berkley pepper spraying in detail (caught on someone’s camera)… As a response to the police chief telling the press: “the police were surrounded… they had no choice but to spray them”. Yet the video shows that they were clearly not surrounded… Hence, “don’t think”, let the press think for you… (Aheh…). I can see why they shaped it in this way… I don’t know, they thought they were blocking the walkway, or what?… Like, forever, though, they have been pulled by the government telling us what to think and shaping things in such a way to make us think one thing but it’s not… That’s why it’s a bit more wise to listen to ground sources…Just thought I’d add my two cents… I hope it’s not too late and everyone’s gone… As an offhand note, did you see that big balloon in the Thanksgiving Day parade of the cop spraying the pepper spray, I saw it, and like, “woah…”

Ah yes, cheap shots at Fox News in the comments, so witty. One mildly conservative network with the rest of the media leaning left, and “progressives” feel threatened that they don’t own the entire media. Everybody has their personal bogeyman, picked according to their own world view. If people really did “Occupy Their Minds”, perhaps we would see less media sympathy for the Occupy movement.

Always enjoy the comments saying the Right wants you to stop thinking include a stock liberal rejoinder. Failure to think, indeed.

Okay, so have a civil discussion about it. Why do you see the Democrats as any more out of touch with normal Americans than the GOP?

You mean the kind of corporate welfare that the O- administration provided for Solyndra $500 million or the kind of corporate welfare the O-administration provided to a South Korea company that manufactures the batteries for the Chevy Volt $175 million. The list goes on and on and on and on.

If you want to know what the right wing has been up to lately, listen to what they are saying about Dems. Other than that they can’t be taken seriously, because they are so hyperbolic. Evidently all Dems are far, far, left and extremely radical. On top of that they make things up. Like Obama has a radical agenda or their are death panels , or he hangs out with terrorists from Kenya. Or that he is Muslim. Which to real Americans, shouldn’t make any difference. The right wing makes it up as they go along…To them you are wrong if they say you are, even if it’s an idea they came up with themselves…

I am amazed at the depth and effectiveness of thirty years of talk radio in zombifying what used to be decent,thinking Americans who were fair-minded.

What a waste! if the talk show subversion had actually been used instead for a program of science information, or fact-oriented sociology, we Americans could have completely turned America into a real Garden of Eden.

I beg your pardon? Public schooling was something Frederick the Great came up with for his Prussia as a way of assuring His Majesty of a reliable supply of obedient, trusting cannon fodder. Of course, he put it in terms of the most fashionable Enlightenment language of the day so as to enchant the likes of Horace Mann, who brought the concept to this country partly to make sure everyone was indoctrinated in his notion of ‘civic virtue’ and partly to undermine the highly successful schools established by Catholic immigrants (which he hated both as Catholics and as immigrants). It’s pretty hard to teach people how to be free within a framework of compulsion. As Emerson put it, ‘The end preexists in the means’.
