Well, when they say “you’re the yin to my yang”, they mean “complementary opposite”. But “you’re the yin to my yin” is just wrong on so many levels. Unless you’re in New York, then it’s ok to still be friends.
I’ve tasted some pretty good tofu. Beats tasteless meat any day. After all, It is the seasoning that makes the taste in meat. Add the same seasonings to tofu, you get the same taste.
my wife bought me a really nice BBQ cookbook, with 365 really good recipes in it. #366 was a tofu recipe, a nod, i guess, to that substance. once every 4 years is still something to put off til next time, tho.
Scrambled egg with tofu (as a filler as we broke half our eggs doing field work) was the worst meal I ever tried to force down. Saying tofu can ever taste like a steak is like saying cardboard can be made to taste like shrimp cocktail.
Yep, it’s like so many other vegetarian products, no taste at all. They take on taste from whatever is put in them. This can be good or it can be a disaster. Also, if you season, you must be very careful of sugar and salt content of your seasonings. FYI

Soy bacon tastes like real bacon in the same way that sand tastes like sugar.
Mitch Hedberg once said, " If vegetarian food is so great , Why do they try and make it taste like our food?".

It depends on what you want from the relationship.
If you are willing to settle for a friend, OK.
If you are dating to find a potential spouse, it’s time “soy, bean fun, but I’m outta here! You’re not the grill o’ my dreams.”

I tried grilling it once, but it still tasted like tofu.
