It’s been Republican logic since Reagan that you can spend money you don’t have and it’s caught up with us. As Cheney said “Reagan proved deficits don’t matter”
But like Toles says the Amur’kan people can’t do math. How do you explain to the populus that operates at a sixth grade level that you need to tax the rich because they’re paying a lower rate than they are?
Stephen, what are you talking about? What is his message? HE HAS NO BILL! I can’t believe an intellectual would take this community organizer named Hussein seriously as an American leader. His intent is very clear to us…make it seem like he wants to do something about “jobs”, but (eventually?) propose something that has no chance of passing in order to BLAME someone else for the problem. Ride that wave into 2012…that’s the message I’m getting.
I read these comments and many of them strikes me as being overzealous for one team or the other. This country’s problems are a lot more serious than a football game. If you’re paying attention, you would know that both parties spend on what they feel their priorities should be. The god of the republican party Ronald Reagan talked out of both sides of his mouth. One side was saying we need a balanced budget the other side of his mouth said we need truckloads of money for my pet projects. The truckloads of money won over the balanced budget. The situation we are needs to be taken more seriously. I myself think compassion outweighs greed. Conservative Christian should ask Jesus what he thinks.
No matter where you sit on the political spectrum, you should be upset about the poor state of the US (and Canadian, may I add) educational system. Math is more fun than almost anything when it’s taught correctly — and I say this as a literary person, not as a math/science person. There is an amazing beauty in the patterns you find. And when I read a really neat proof, I’m just amazed that anyone could have been so smart as to figure that out. The only thing more fun (aside from sex and chocolate) is learning a new language. But that’s another topic.
Amazing the folks who condemn the “hockey stick” as unreal accept the “hockey puck” intellect behind “Reaganomics” and taxing the wealthy and corporations less will increase revenue.
Obama is a still community organizer at heart; an organizer seeks to rule by consensus. His opposition has foiled that method of government by refusing to reach a consensus on anything. Obama needs to delve into confrontational politics if he means to get anything accomplished before Election Day!

Better ‘tax and spend’ than ‘borrow and spend’

Most people are still traumatized by high school algebra class. No wonder we can’t figure out any of this …

In my opinion, Obama never should have made that ,“it’s MATH” remark. The average Tea-Party Republican thinks 2+2=Cat
