Lio, don’t forget Max Schreck, the original movie vampire (Nosferatu, 1922). What an appropriate role it was for him: his last name means “fright.”

I don’t mind him covering that Twilight poster with Bela Lugosi, but I cross the line at him covering Robert Pattinson’s face.

As you all know, if you’ve ever read TV Guide, next to the name and time of each progam and/or film, there’s a capsule description of the plot.

Some years ago. I was perusing the Guide and came across a showing of the Lugosi Dracula.

The entire description: “Accept no substitutes!”

Good one, Lio! Get the REAL vampire out there. Can’t stand what Twilight and its ilk has done to the noble image of the vampire. Bela would be horrified.

We can’t really blame Twilight for ruining the vampire genre, though. To a certain extent, Twilight piggy-backed off the popularity of Buffy and Angel before it. It’s not that clear-cut.
