Rat, evil though he surely is, reminds me, in panel 3, of Bud Abbott. The comic rhythm of his retort could be right out of an Abbott and Costello routine.

Sherlock — I think maybe I used to buy those at the movie theater when I was a kid.

Poor Goat. Doesn’t he ever get tired of playing straight man to Rat and Pig?

SusanSunshine: Yeah, there were lots of ‘em for the price (stretch the candy out as long as possible). Sam’s Club sells them in 5 lb. bags now and every so often one finds it’s way into my cart. How about a box of JuJuBees now? Would rip the few remaining fillings right out of my mouth. They were only really good for flinging at unsuspecting.

You are so right, Mechanic. Promise the electorate what they want to hear, and you get votes. One politician who went out trying to drum up support for budget cuts found that every single group he talked to wanted the federal budget cut, but NOT one of them was willing to have the cuts touch them.

The “Greatest Generation” has been replaced by the “Me Generation”.

For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.(Galatians 5:17)

Yes, and unfortunately I’m not part of the top 2%, and so I have not enjoyed any tax cuts or economic growth.

    This explains a lot.

When Rat and his big friend comes around, someone picked the lesser of the two evils.
