the slums lords of LA do the same- they complain about “big government” while they take their tenants 801 housing grants to the banks…they hate the immigrant, yet rent them 3 families to a house, they hate the immigrant-yet use them for instant slum building…

How Much Money Does Defense & Entitlements Need?Answer: All of Everyone’s Money.

Politicians could Fund their Dreams by taking responsibility for their actions AND Balancing the Annual Budget by doing the following:

Any Congressman Not Voting Against Increased Spending would include his District in Paying for their portion of that year’s Increase.

No C-O-L-A Excuses. No Deductions. No Exemptions. Just proportion the increased expense among the Gross Receipts, Donations and Entitlements of ALL living or doing business in ALL the Represented Districts.

All Political Promotions within District would pay 1% of Expenditures. All Lobbyists would pay 1% of receipts. All Businesses in the District would pay 1% of Sales. All Non-Profit Organizations would pay 1% of Receipts. All Tax-Exempt Organizations would pay 1% of Receipts. All Employers & Governments would pay 1% Head Tax on District Contractors, Employee Wages, Benefits, Perks, Stock Options & Bonuses. All Adults in the District of Voting Age would have their Wages Garnished proportionally by the IRS.All Adults in the District receiving Entitlement Checks would have their Cash Reduced proportionally.

The District is now proudly responsible for their Representative’s fiscal actions and bringing home the Pork.

Leave the rest of US out of it.

Bachmann isn’t what really bothers me, it’s all the folks who buy her slop.

Pork is Pork, whether Democrat or Republican. BOTH sides are equally guilty. Neither one really listens to the small gut, they are so indebted to Special Interests . . .

And then her husband’s clinic is also taking medicare dollars…This is the flip side of the Republican response to people like Buffett – “If you love taxes so much, you go ahead and pay more”. People are allowed to disagree with the system and yet work within it. So far I haven’t heard that she’s done anything illegal, just ideologically inconsistent. To expect people to actively penalize themselves alone because they don’t agree with something isn’t rational.

Oliphants’ comment about Bachmann is correct. I wonder, when Ted Kennedy was running for President, whether Oliphant correctly noted that Kennedy used to be a cheater (kicked out of Harvard.) I wonder whether or not he would have noted that Obama did drugs, etc. or is he only focused on Republicans and their faults?

Charles, the media apparently gave Bush a free pass on being the first coke addict in the White House; he wouldn’t even admit his serious addiction problems, though they were pretty much a matter of record.

I recall Clinton getting bit (though not “excessive”) of coverage over his pot usage. What I don’t recall is very much press coverage during the 2000 election over Bush dodging question over his alleged past drug abuse. We’ve already had a President “not inhale” pot, one with DUI and alleged cocaine issues, why not one with a crack past?
