The Flintstones is a double ripoff, first of The Honeymooners and second of Wild, Wild World, a 1960 Merrie Melodies cartoon (Jackie Gleason at one point planned to sue Hanna-Barbera because of the similarities between Fred Flintstone and Ralph Kramden, but was dissuaded when his lawyer told him, “Do you want to be known as the guy who yanked Fred Flintstone off the air?")Doctor, don’t yabba-dabba-do that.
I think it would be more in character for Lio to turn into Dino, but then some people might not have gotten the joke. For that matter, it would be in character for Lio to turn into Kazoo……
I can’t fault kids not knowing the “Woody Woodpecker” sound but they certainly should be exposed to the sound of an actual woodpecker. I’m in my 60s and Woody Woodpecker was an old cartoon when I was a kid!
