If his constituents are offended by it, they can vote him out next year or push for a recall if he won’t go.But if you break the law doing it – like the guy using state funds for his tryst, or Edwards taking millions for hush money (if it really was “personal gifts”, did it show up on his 1040EZ form?) – that’s when prosecution should come in.
^While I don’t disagree with your basics, let’s get the facts straight. Edwards did not have to declare gifts on his taxes. Gift taxes are paid by the donor, not the recipient.

The real “junk in the trunk” is what Bush/Cheney policies, (with Congressional complicity) taken several steps further from what Reagan and Bush 41, did to my 401k, housing prices, loans, Afghanistan, Iraq, and, well, jobs in America.
We’re not intrigued by pictures of your package. Seriously. I’ve had guys send them to me in video games and never once have I been like “ooo la la.” There’s no appeal to it. Sorry, but we’re not as easily coerced with visuals of that region as you are by visuals of ours.
