Well it is night time and he is a toddler. My guess is max is asleep. Probably why the picture is so serene.

I love the “August” strips but I can identify with BlackKnight15. I live “Down Under” and I’m sick of winter here. It’s no fun at all. I can’t wait for summer and the long vacation time.

the dought in south texas is taking the wonderful out of august. Have to wait until october for the kind of weather being shown….

BRAVO!! Points for Jan for good astronomy! Those ARE Perseid meteors, and I salute the wonderful person who took the time to draw Perseus recognizably.

oh, poppycock…….if you see the Perseus constellation in that random rendering of white spots on black background then you see the actual mythological figures represented in the stars

I think I enjoy the summer all the more because of all these “you gotta love” strips. Normally I’m too busy complaining about the high heat and humidity to really appreciate the summer. This year, it has been raining almost every day, and very hard. So this is the first actual week of summer that we’ve had so far. I luvit!

@mamarose, no one is watching Phil’s hands except you. (and me, I must admit. Whatever the kids would learn from watching him and Val would be about loving each other, which I personally think is just fine. Look at the dreamy expression on his face!)

Where’s Max and the baby?

I love these. A break for the artist – getting to draw fun stuff in enough space without having to come up with dialog – and we get new strips. If it’s between this kind of vacation and re-runs of old strips, I’ll take this any time.

Where I live, August is hot, dusty mornings, cool afternoon rains and warm, breezy nights.
