I know they’re a bit too young to understand this but I’d tell them anyway. Be thankful for what you’ve got, there are a lot of people with less.

My hubby has made women at his workplace jealous with the leftovers he has brought for lunch. Leftovers are so much better now that microwaves are readily available.

We actually like the hash we make from leftover pot roast better than the pot roast itself!

Leftovers rock, but you don’t have to eat the same thing twice. Check out Mashed Potato Pizza: http://www.macheesmo.com/2009/01/mashed-potato-pizza/ excellent way to use leftover mashed potatoes - though I think I would add a little gravy for sauce instead of just olive oil. Then again, I am southern.

Although to give Val points here, it does look like she’s (at least trying to anyway) whip up something new with leftovers.

i love leftovers. when we have some pork chops left we grab them cut them up real small. then get some ketchup and a sweet jam/jelly and mix it up together. then toss the meat in the skillet and heat it up some. when its warm pour the ketchup and jam/jelly on top and cook it a little longer then walla. you have home made sweet and sour pork chops/ meat. you put that on bread or tortilla and it is knock your socks off good.
