Shika had some good advice for you last night. Give yourself some time to get used to your new circumstances and to grieve. Do not be too hard on yourself. I thought I was “together” when I went through it, and now, looking back, it’s a wonder I was able to function at all because I was so numb.

And, just keep in mind, too, that sometimes a job search takes longer than you’d like, especially in today’s economic climate. So, hang in there and take things slow and easy. Give yourself a break and know ahead of time that there may be numerous rejections before you hit “pay dirt”.

It just may take some time, so please be aware of that. To me, it sounds like you’re taking things way to fast, and I don’t want to see you “crash”. Be well, my friend.

Do they even make lick-em stamps any more, except for collectors?

Ooooh, snow! I am so jealous, IM. The drought here is so hard that even our 10,000+ft peaks barely have any snow on them. We haven’t had any measurable snow since December ’11 here in town (7500ft).

It’s got Maggie all choked up too.

Yes, I did notice that, StelBel. I think you had already turned in when I finally made my evening appearance. I didn’t stay too long either, but long enough to see the pictures I missed during the day.

I’ll be deleting a pork tenderloin in about 1 1/2 – 2 hours. Tomorrow morning I’ll delete a couple BLT’s.

We went to the Chuckanut Manor for lunch today and ate outside on their deck overlooking Samish Bay. The temp was perfect and we watched a bald eagle searching for his fish for lunch. Wonderful!

Well my deleted roast pork was delish.

hm, all this talk of culinary excellence has whetted my taste buds. Now, hold your hat, this is the gastronomic masterpiece I’ve lovingly prepared for this evening. Warm Gruel, one of my favorites. Seasoned with a bit of cumin, it’s almost as fun going in as it is going out.

Shika, I’ve got lamb chops in the freezer just waiting to be deleted. Then there’s some lamb I’ve got waiting to be deleted on St. Patrick’s day in an Irish Lamb Stew. I can’t wait to delete that and a few Irish coffees. Oh, and I have yet to buy the corned beef and cabbage to be deleted on or about March 17th. I can almost smell it now.

Yes, I’m looking forward to the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day feasts, Shika. Not to mention it is the Spring kickoff and the end of daytime temps below 60 down here.

StelBel must be in bed watching some tube by now. I’m watching How To Marry A Millionaire before I turn in.

Grog, St. Paddy’s Day is still chilly here, but it is always warm indoors in the pubs and taverns.A good Irish stew warms one up, along with a good lager or stout.

Hi Dry, in case you didn’t see me the first time.

I know how chilly it can be in Canada – particularly in Montreal on St. Paddy’s day, Shika. I’ve been to many a parade. Irish Coffees helped keep my fingers warm during the parade. The body heat of the jam-packed bars kept me warm after the parades.

I’m about to log off soon. How are you feeling? Still flu-y?

When I saw it I thought of Sidney Freidman on MASH who said “Pull down your pants and slide on the ice.”

No Shika, it’s not the flu. I almost wish it was so I would know for sure what is wrong. Doesn’t effect my appetite, or doing housework and such, it’s just an odd feeling and a crampy one. Comes and goes, yesterday it was an all day thing. Tylenol helped until the Tylenol wore off. Wakes me up too.

I don’t think they had enough elbow room, Shika.

Well, the movie’s winding down and it’s time for me to unwind into total darkness. I hope Motel 6 doesn’t decide to turn all the lights on.
