Today is really the end of the strip series. We are waiting until tomorrow to see if they will rerun it. But yesterday Rob Harrell the artist did announce: For those interested, I’m close to finishing my first graphic novel, Monster on the Hill, which will be out next spring from Top Shelf Productions. So we do have something new to look forward to.

It doesn’t hurt as much this time as it did the first, on Mar. 25, 2007, but it still does painfully remind me that there is not a whole lot of justice in the comics world if great strips like Big Top can fail.

In 2007 they waited about three months before starting reruns. In any case, it may be time for me to let go of the past and drop some of my most beloved reruns (incl. Citizen Dog and Bo Nanas) and try out some new cartoons. Anybody have any recommendations?

So it seems dusty is himself to the end.

IF this is the end and they don’t rerun it again (I hope not – this day is sad enough) where should the Tribe settle too?

Some of my favorite strips on this site are Little Dog Lost, Red & Rover, Dog Eat Doug, Imagine This & The Barn.

I read 30 strips here and 23 strips at The Daily Ink. It’s about all I can handle right now.

Grog – Pick one as a backup. I hope we don’t have to move, but just in case (forbid it). It should be a good strip but with low commenting so we don’t bother anyone. Red Rover sounds nice but I am do not know all the possibilites.

    Good Morning, Tribesters!

I hope they rerun Rob’s great creation! I enjoyed today’s final strip, including the screen credits! How creative!

Now, where, oh where will our “family” meet again? We had this same problem with the gang (sock puppets) from Brenda Starr. One of the members suggested the Spanish version of Mutt & Jeff because the number of commentors was zero. We became the Vagabond Village, and have enjoyed each other ever since.

I guess it really is true, circus comic strips are very hard to find lengthy footing. :/ Sad, this was so well done.

The two thousand member Baptist church was filled to overflowing capacity one Sunday morning. The preacher was ready to start the sermon when two men, dressed in long black coats and black hats entered thru the rear of the church. One of the two men walked to the middle of the church while the other stayed at the back of the church. They both then reached under their coats and withdrew automatic weapons. The one in the middle announced, “Everyone willing to take a bullet for Jesus stay in your seats!” Naturally, the pews emptied, followed by the choir. The deacons ran out the door, followed by the choir director and the assistant pastor. After a few moments, there were about twenty people left sitting in the church. The preacher was holding steady in the pulpit. The men put their weapons away and said, gently, to the preacher, “All right, pastor, the hypocrites are gone now. You may begin the service.”

Just had to drop in. Ummm….maybe we shouldn’t let Ooops milk the cows unsupervised. Replacing various barns, Big Top tents etc can get a bit expensive after awhile.

Oh my, what a way to start the day kids. Well it Looks like I need to change my order huh. Ok I’ll go with a steak (apparently) WELL DONE and eggs. Looks like at least 2 cows survived Ooops so maybe cream tomorrow? BTW how does one destroy a barn by milking a cow? You had a cup of DTWFNC with you didn’t ya? You know you can’t drop that stuff. :-).Noicant, good luck with the rental truck and loading up today..BCNU around kids. Have a good one today.

The writing has been on the wall for some time. With the impending demise of the newspaper the outlet where these creative people can make a living at their craft continues to dwindle. I can sense the end of the comic strip as we know it. If not in the near future, certainly in the not too distant one. Sad, very sad. It was one of the only two reasons I ever picked up a paper. Sports being the other.

    Other famous Church Bulletin bloopers:

Don’t let worry kill you – let the church help.

Thursday night – Potluck Supper. Prayer and medication to follow.

Remember in prayer the many who are sick of our church and community.

This afternoon there will be a meeting in the South and North ends of the church. Children will be baptized at both ends.

Tuesday at 4:00 PM there will be an ice cream social. All ladies giving milk will please come early.

Thursday at 5:00 PM, there will be a meeting of the Little Mothers Club. All ladies wishing to be “Little Mothers” will meet with the Pastor in his study.

This being Easter Sunday, we will ask Mrs. Lewis to come forward and lay an egg on the altar.

The ladies of the church have cast off clothing of every kind. They can be seen in the church basement Saturday.

At the evening service tonight, the sermon topic will be “What is hell?” Come early and listen to our choir practice.

My thanks to aaf709 and crystalwizard for your recommendations. I’ll look into them. (Already doing 10 Cats.)INGSOC: Not sure what your intentions are, but I’ll look at your recommendation too.

As to the Tribe, good luck in your new home, but I’ve always thought that was what Facebook was for, not a comics site.

Maybe we should consider fretting? Do you think we should contact GoComics and kindly ask them to run it again?

Cool! If gocomics won’t start running them over, I’ll just go back 5 years. More or less. (To June 18, 2008, to be precise)

    .

    Good Morning, Tribe and everyone!

Ewww!! Burnt popcorn in the Big Top! This is what happens when people leave it on too long…. I do hope that none of the cast of characters gets too upset and causes trouble.

I’m OK with the credits—as long as there are no moose to bite people.
