I’m angry. I may write my congresscritter to tell him what he can do with his opinion of abortion. He’s one of the QOP (in a red / purple county in a deep blue state).

The GOP is telling women they don’t have the right to control their own medical care, they aren’t smart enough to work with a doctor, and they need legal restrictions. And now we see the results.

I expect we’ll be hearing a lot more of “It was God’s will that she died”, followed by “She’s in our thoughts and prayers”.

Several pregnant women in red states have been denied care in ER, resulting in deaths.

THIS Is exactly how it needed to be said.

For the first time since it was created, the supreme court, with its’ right-wing majority, has actually removed rights that a woman had.

And they will not stop at Roe

The legislators and AGs in red states keep saying doctors have sufficient protection, but the laws have been written so vaguely (either in haste or deliberation) that a motivated prosecutor can fabricate a case against a doctor who has acted in accordance with acceptable medical practice. At the very least, a doctor feels the necessity to consult a lawyer in a specific case, maybe resulting in a delay causing death or irreparable damage. And when common-sense regulations are proposed they accuse the proposers of ulterior motives, opening the door for whatever…

Yes, totally agree women should not be left to ‘almost die’ from complications in their pregnancies. I also believe that women or girls should not have to carry a fetus if they are not ready to be a parents or don’t want to add to their family. Basically, I am saying no woman or girl should be forced to carry a fetus and it is nobody’s business but hers.

A new study, published April 8 2024 in The Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences found that pregnancy can accelerate aging in young women…

Researchers honed in on the study’s female participants and found that those who had never been pregnant showed less signs of aging than women who had been pregnant. For every additional pregnancy, aging accelerated almost 3 months faster than researchers would expect, the study found. Calen Ryan PhD, lead author of the study and associate research scientist at the Columbia Aging Center said in a release to Science Daily that his team’s research is the first to “follow the same women through time, linking changes in each woman’s pregnancy to changes in her biological age.”

At a time when women’s reproductive rights are under siege, and maternal morbidity rates in the U.S. continue to outpace what it should be for a developed, high-income country, it’s important for both women and lawmakers to consider aging as a part of the overall impact pregnancy can have on health and livelihood.

“We suspect that the costs are highest when healthcare is poor, or when nutritional resources—macro or micronutrients—are scarce. We also think young pregnancies, which are competing with the mother’s own growth, might be particularly costly,”

Science.. has no answer, but evidently only women registered as democrat require abortions. Seems republican women can handle rape and incest better.

A woman’s rights over her own body. Democrats trust the woman to make the right decision for herself. Republicans don’t believe the woman should have any rights.

    What’s the big deal?

Sinners, who are women, especially poor women, HAVE to be controlled, and punished when they sin!

No laws are perfect and you have to expect a little collateral damage now and then.

    .

OMG!!! The other side wants stem cell research and all sorts of vile effects of allowing women to control their own reproductive systems.

Embryos are people, too, ya know.

I’m a man and this tears at my heart. Hopefully all voters will get these men out of office so we can get back to sane times. The age old question, what if this was happening to their wife or child? I abohr those who preach and vote against abortions of any kind. I don’t care if your a democrat, republican or independent, we must remove this scab encrusting our individual rights. This fight is beyond party affiliation. This fight is for the Right to control one’s own body. If in doubt as to the future I suggest reading 1984 by George Orwell. If after reading the novel it doesn’t scare you of a future world then nothing will. You can see bits and pieces already starting.

This is not a matter if you are a democrat or a republican or independent, young or old, , this is a matter of the continuation of our democracy or an authoritarian government. If not now, then when. What kind of govt. would you prefer.

An issue like abortion should be decided at the state level. If enough voters feel their state should have it fine, but not every state wants to have failed policies like N.Y. and California. Meanwhile, issues that women also care about include the fact that since Biden took office food prices are up 21%, rent is up 20%, electricity is up 28%. Across the board, overall prices are up 19.4%. Couple that with increased crime in the streets of dem controlled cities, illegal aliens getting the scarce dollars that should be used for taxpaying Americans to make their lives better, and the fact that Biden has proven to be not the great uniter as he promised, but the great divider. Finally, we are all less safe with Biden. No foreign leader respects him, or fears him, so use your brain and vote red. For the betterment of all Americans, not just the politicians in D.C.

I’m ever so glad I live in a Blue state. Watching women’s rights stripped away from them is appalling. Republicans have become the American Taliban that is slowly eroding people’s rights all the way to how they vote. If trump gets back in that’ll be the last time anyone will be able to vote. The Handsmaid’s Tale is becoming all too real for many women here in America

The true irony, which the perpetrators won’t recognize or accept if they did, is that the people forcing this on the rest of the country (the majority are against these regressive policies) are at least indirect murderers.
