“Just give a few minutes to see the end of this program”. : that’s what my old lady always says when she watches programs (mostly soap operas) that end, at least, after half an hour.
Been sick all week so I told my wife I’d cut the lawn on the weekend but it’s been raining yesterday and today. The grass is about 8 inches long now. Hope the lawn mower will be able to cut through it when it finally gets sunny out. BTW Happy Mother’s Day !
I’m with Brutus. The hedges will be there tomorrow, nap while you can, life is uncertain. Gladys will still be there to nag him about trimming them tomorrow.
Looks like someone is in for a rude awakening – literally! But given the movement of the sun, he’s had a nice little nap. I can relate to this one; I can’t possibly count the number of times I’ve missed the end of west coast baseball or hockey games because I fell asleep.
if only our former neighbor were more like brutus. the poor guy seemed to have nothing better to do in his golden retirement years than to circle his property all day long with bucket, collecting stray leaves, and trimming his yew hedge with such fearsome regularity that big holes had appeared in the hedge wall…

You know what they say:When the going gets tough
The tough get going… to sleep
(And that nap is “Ocean”-deep)

We interrupt this hedge trimming for an afternoon nap.

When the going gets tuff, I give the kid down the street a few bucks.

You forgot to get the details Gladys.
1) A minute is one, a couple of minutes is usually two, so a few would be an unspecified number that is more than 2
2) He said he’d get to the hedges when he finishes his program. Yesterday I started a program that has 10 one hour episodes

I can’t imagine sleeping in that position. My neck hurts just looking at it.

The position of the sun in the window is a clever way to illustrate the passage of time. Well done.

I’ve got the hedge from h-ll and it’s taller than me. I’ll probably have to take the chainsaw to it. It’s past time to retrain it.

Maybe he jumped up and took care of it during the commercials, and he’s so tuckered out he’s taking a nap! Don’t jump to conclusions Gladys!

I’m surprised Brutus isn’t celebrating Mother’s Day. /s
