Toby was never overly tolerant of other dogs and he barely tolerated our cat Paddy. I think he’s on the middle cloud enjoying the scenery and happy that he doesn’t have to participate.
Hey Happy, regarding that remarkable nighttime satellite picture of everybody’s favorite dictatorship county , North Korea………‘Electricity? Electricity? We don’ need no steenkin’ electricity!’
Shika, though I do have a couple VCR’s for watching the shrinking part of my collection that’s still on VHS, I do not have any recordable VHS tapes anymore.
I also find it hard enough to find a single program worth recording, much less 5 programs at one time, to make TiVo worth my while.
As it is, the monthly satellite payments are getting less and less worth it as time goes by. As it is, TCM and the NFL Sunday Ticket are the only reasons I’m still paying for it. I think that’ll change by the time I retire.
I’ll pass, Happy. I saw enough of What Price Glory last night to make me want to buy the DVD. In addition to Cagney, there was a very good supporting cast.
yes, for such a short short time they occupy space on planet earth, they surely occupy the minds of those who loved them and lived with them for the rest of our lives
Its not for nothing that dog spelled backward is God! Good morning all CDers. This weeks panels make me smile everytime I see a dog. Yesterday at the Saturday Market there were as many dogs as people, including a Chinese Crested in a purple sequined coat!
The only thing missing on this one is….I really do think dogs need their people like people (some, anyway) need their dogs. Without each other we’re just waiting.
NUMBER SIX, Don’t know. They both worked today, left early in the morning and aren’t home yet. My other neighbor, Paula, hasn’t heard anything either, but she surmises that he needed his leg operated on and they kept him overnight for observation. If either of us hear anything, we will let the other know, and I in turn, will let you know. The only thing that worries me is how quiet they were when they came home. We had our front door open, and other than slamming car doors, not a peep. But they didn’t bring the pet taxi back which also leads us to believe he is still in the hospital.
He spent the day at the Animal Hospital, he’s eating and drinking water, alert. He has a broken leg, fractured hip, and POSSIBLE nerve damage in his front shoulder. They couldn’t tell from the X-rays, the front shoulder is swollen, so it could just be that. When the swelling goes down, they will be able to tell more, his backbone and all other vital areas are fine. No vet around here does bone surgery, so they will have to drive to Pittsburgh tmr. the only place in the state that does bone surgery. She is going to call her vet tmr. to be sure this is correct. But they told her at the Animal Hospital that as small as he is, 8 pounds, and under a year old, he should make a FULL recovery. They will have to take time from work, but she said, “Looks like we will be making a trip to Pittsburgh”.
They still don’t know how he got out of the house. My hubby was working in the backyard all day yesterday, and me in the front yard. We never saw him.
Stel, I don’t think they intentionally didn’t say anything. Their driveway is right near our bedroom window, I heard them both leave for work around 6:30, and I happened to be outside when they got back, at separate times. She is a single mom raising her son, and works 12 hour days as a caregiver for handicapped and Senior citizens, and her son is a High School student who works two part time jobs over the summer. When I went over, the first thing they did was thank me profusely for what we did.
I stood near the side of the road with Brewster because I didn’t want him getting hit again, or rolling out into the road. He was so shocked and dazed that he wouldn’t let me near him. And still with me standing by the roadside, IDIOTS STILL DROVE UP THE HILL AT 60 MPH in a 35 mile speed limit zone. No cops around as usual.
Number Six, that sign isn’t a bad idea. I wonder if Christine and Christopher would go for that, they are quiet people I think Christopher would go for it.
We have speed bumps here too, but not on streets, just at malls, schools, etc. That is also something worth thinking about.
Thanks for the ideas. We as a neighborhood, with Paula at the helm, fought the water co some years back. She’s a sharp cookie, maybe we could do something here. Another long story about our Hill, we fought the school district as well, but we lost that one. Another long story, which I won’t go into here. It would take up WAY too much space! LOL!
