It’s funny, it’s been an issue all along, but kept in check by Roe v Wade. And all during that time the R’s had full confidence that the majority was on their side, and the D’s in an odd way believed that as well and fretted over it. Now we are beginning to see the reality.
And calling it a wedge issue won’t change the emerging fundamentals.
Even Evangelicals were not so “up in arms” about abortion until someone on the extreme right figured out they could use it to rile people up and win them over to their side.
More of a rally thing about an issue that should be left between the patient and her doctor. Republicans don’t seem to have anything to offer, just take established stuff away.
Nonsense. It was settled law and not a “wedge issue” until the Republican packed Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade with a decision that would have gotten an F in any non-religious law school.

THE TOP TEN STATES WITH THE HIGHEST RATES OF MATERNAL MORTALITY
ARE THE SAME STATES that HAVE BANNED ABORTION.
26,313 pregnant rape victims in Texas since the GOP took abortion rights away.
26,313 American citizens forced, by cons, in just 1 state, to be pregnant, against their will, by rapists.
Pregnant women in Missouri CAN’T GET A DIVORCE.
A 10-yr-old rape victim in Ohio couldn’t get an abortion.
A dying woman in Texas couldn’t get an abortion.
A woman with a dead fetus in her womb couldn’t get an abortion.
THIS IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU ARE GOVERNED BY NAT Cs
That’s con America. That’s what MAGA fights for.

The majority of Americans support women’s right to choose. Every time it’s put on the ballot, this gets confirmed.

Why should the rights of the possible human over-ride those of the actual human?

Abortion kills innocent unborn babies under the guise of women’s rights.

Absolutely true, and what’s more, and more important, the right figured out how to MONETIZE the issue. Guess who gets the money?

It’s not a “wedge issue.” This is the first time since Prohibition that a right was taken away from the American people.
